Before recently, I would have always answered #1 prove that MSU can win, but right now I really don't know the answer to this question. The last 10 years has just been a bit much.

Hiring Joe Lee Dunn saved his ***, as did his ability to recruit JUCO's before everyone else jumped on the wagon.

I think Dan is on the right track, he just needs to continue to recruit well and let these players that are freshmen and sophomores develop- like Tyler and Chad.

Once these players get more experience, Dan's play calling is going to look a lot better.

If we're shooting for accuracy. Jackie was special. I'm glad we had him for those few good years.

than even when Jackie was here. Alabama is better now than they ever were in the 90s plus you've also got LSU, Auburn and Arkansas all likely legitimate Top 20 teams right now in our own division yet they were all suspect at times during the 90s. Even OM's program (minus the debacle this year) has been better lately than all but the last few years Jackie was around. And in the East KY, our permanent opponent, has really improved since the 90s as a program, FL and SC are legit Top 15 this year, and Georgia is 1-2 but they've lost to 2 really good teams and were one of the East favorites pre-season. Tennessee is the only program now that you can definitely say has taken a big step backwards since the Jackie days and we are not currently playing them. And really only Vanderbilt in the SEC can we count on to yearly have less talent than us and unfortunately OM is the team from our state that gets to play them every year. So with the current conference status, if we don't keep our non-conference schedule with 4 gimmes at least in the years we don't get to play Vandy, even getting to 6-6 is a pretty decent accomplishment.

Butyou have to understand that for most of that time, we weren't even trying to win. We probably can't go 20-12 in 4 seasons in the SEC like we did in 97-00, but can damn well can be competive. And with the people we have in charge now, we will be competitive.

through those notes several times and i think it would really surprise you guys what he was writing. he developed a short hand system where he had the page divided in sections so that he could make notes on down and distance and the play that was called both on offense and defense and the result of that play. i was 20 years old the first time he let me look at that and of course i thought i knew every thing about football. after he explained the page to me, i realized i should stick to drinking.

It's great to recruit the top talent in Mississippi but that alone will not win championships. In fact, with Miss. talent you will be lucky to have a winning season in the SEC. King Jackie frequently went outside Miss. for talent. We need to do the same now. It's crap that a player from outside your state will play with less commitment than an instate player.

Talked with some big time Alabama boosters and they said Saban wasn't recruiting AL heavy this year cause he said the state didn't have the talent needed to win. Most of his recruits will come from out of state. Saban is an a--hole but he is a smart college coach.

I like Mullen getting MS guys, but think that if we get more than 10 a year in our class from MS we are screwing ourselves.

Isn't this exactly what Bruiser and others have said about 1000 times only to be rebuked with "Jerry Rice & Walter Payton!111?"
