The game will not be carried on the main channel ("25.1") in favor of syndicated reruns of "Everyone Hates Chris".

I get having to show your national broadcasts from FOX, but get on the 17ing ball and show the damn State game over your filler bullsh!t.

Or at least put out a decent enough signal that those of us who actually live in the town you're supposed to serve can pick up your damn signal with an antenna.

We have 3 stations that carry FOX. Maybe the New Orleans or Mobile station will carry the games.

I get my service through DirecTV, which has FOX25 as a local channel. This is not good. Maybe there's another option through DirecTV. </p>

It would be located as "25.2" on your TV if you can pick up the signal, with the main feed on 25.1. Cable One has it on channel 18 apparantly. DirecTV doesn't carry it.

I just called and talked to a guy.

You are right about Cable One channel 18 (and he thought it was across the Coast). The game will be on 18.

Antenna: 25.2, 48.2, 48.4

DirecTV: S.O.L.

Ifyou don't mind my asking.

I found a number to call, and I'd like to ask why they won't just show the game on the main feed.

When the receptionist answered, I said I had a programming questions... and she transferred me to a guy and I can't remember the name.

He said it's FOX nationally that won't allow them to take off "prime time programming" for the 2 night games. Apparently, they are fine showing the 2 day games on the main FOX25.

He was actually a super nice guy....those folks usually a-holeswhen people call in about programming gripes.

Call him up.

That's the same number i found.

I want to make sure they understand the game does not start until after 9. Fox 'prime time programming' ends at 9, at least as any rational person would define it. If FOX national is defining the local stations 9-10 programming as 'prime time programming', well that's stupid but there's nothing the local station can do about it.

Sounds like that's something that the SEC needs to start covering in their contracts. If a local station doesn't want to (or can't) show the games, they shouldn't get the contract.

They said FOX won't let them show during 7-9. They said they can't show the 9 o'clock game because the SEC doesn't like them splitting up double-headers onto different stations (sounded to me like they could push the SEC on this since they would be switching the State game to a channel with a greater audience, but won't.). They said DirecTV came and put their own equipment in the WXXV building themselves, and are allowed to show the secondary channel, but DTV is not of their own choice.

He was a nice guy, and it seems like the stations hands are mostly tied. I'll call DTV, but that's almost always futile.
