I agree Fish. I know everyone hates Thursday games, as do I, but from a win/loss perspective playing KY on Thursday may be better. We play Bowling Green the weekend before, so being beat up shouldn't be a problem, and we go on back to back road trips to SC and TAMU the following two weeks. Playing a Thursday game against KY will give our team 2 extra days to regroup and prepare for the two week road gauntlet.

Furthermore, it's KY folks! It's not like they are moving LSU, OM, Or Bama. I, like most people hate Thursday games, but if there was ever time and opponent it would be benificial against, this game may be it. We have sold out 21 straight games and the streak should still be going at that time. The stands will be full and I personally care much more about our record than I do about whether someone from the coast or out of state can attend a game. Its for the greater good.

Plus TH night > 11am. And MSU v UK has 11am written all over it. The TH national exclusive is good pub too.

/I know it's more difficult for lots of folks.

Am I missing something? The schedule I'm looking at shows a bye week the weekend before KY.

Thursday night is MUCH more difficult than ANYTIME on Saturday for folks (like me) that have a job and have a school age child they normally bring to the game with them. Having to take off most of Thursday and Friday from work and pulling a kid out of school for a football game is a big pain in the rear. If this holds on Thursday then I will likely end up selling those tickets and watching from my recliner.

How far away are you? Just curious, since you mention having to take Friday off too.

Like I said, I know it's not for everyone. But with all factors considered, including that a large portion of the fan base is within a couple hours driving distance (we have had pretty good attendance at the last few TH games), I understand the logic.

Roughly 3.5 hours of driving distance away. Did go to the 2010 Auburn game and decided to come back home and, because of the traffic mess leaving campus, didn't clear Starkville until around 11:30 p.m. putting me at home at 3 a.m. Plus I couldn't take my school age son who normally goes with me because he would have had to miss about half of Thursday and would have been hard to get up for any Friday school as well. Its just a total pain in the butt and I said I wouldn't do it again without spending the night because the last couple of hours driving at those wee hours of the morning gets rough. But I would doubt seriously I would go over on a Thursday with all the logistical problems for a Kentucky game. Like I said will likely just sell my tickets and watch in HD from my recliner.

Gotcha. I can definitely understand that. If I were that far away, I'd be in the same boat. There's a big difference in 2 hours and 3.5 (when you're talking about there and back in one day).

It hurts my chances of attending, but since it ups our chances of winning at SoCar, I'm in favor of it.

I'm one of the rare folks that's more likely to go on a Thursday--but I'm in the odd position of usually working on Sunday.
