I'll be transferring to MSU this fall and I need a decent, yet affordable apartment. I don't qualify for Aiken Village, but my sister stayed in Chadwick Apartments while she was at State and that's what she recommended. If it's possible, I'd like a place with a living room that's big enough for an 8' pool table (I convert the dining area into the living room) and neighbors that won't ***** when I bust a rack. If not it's no big deal. What say you?

If he had anything to do with the construction, I'm not sure I want to be living in there. I'll check it out though.

If you don't mind being in the hood, Rosehill place on North Montgomery/Jackson was dirt cheap about 4 years ago. $400 for a 2bed/1bath. Albeit ghetto, I never heard of anyone having problems there, and I did have a lovely view of Tru Love's laundromat.

Unfortunately, the two bedroom townhouses they constructed were actually efficiencies furnished with the old furniture from Hightower Hall.

make sure you are in the buildings directly behind the main office. otherwise you will be living with some pretty rough characters. rent was 390 (includes water and cable) about 2 years ago but may be up since then.

Look into those apartments on North Jackson next to Calvary Baptist. When I was there it was pretty clean & quiet, and the rent was reasonable.

No doubt.. I stayed there from 99 to 03... Living room window facing the Tru-Loves... Never any trouble anywhere out there during my stay...

I then moved next door to Action Townhouses and they promptly busted a prostitution ring one building over from me. The apartments on Park Circle, I think it was called Spruill Apartments was pretty cheap and it was ok except the cops came every weekend I had a party to bust it up.

Find a place in the District. You can get some dirt cheap places if you look in the right places. Message me and I'll give you some names and numbers.

...I didn't live there but had a friend that did. 2 br/1 bath, decent sized living room w/ big kitchen. I wanna say it was around $500 a month but that included cable/utilities I think. Cheap with a great location.

If at all possible, live in the Cotton District. It's almost certainly too late to get a place there but I lived there for 3 years and loved every second of it. There really is no other college living like it in the SEC that I have seen. Thinking about it is making me consider grad school.

But it was a nice, cheap place to stay. I think it was about $400/month in about 2004. And that included your basic cable & water (I loved taking those long, high water pressure showers with no concern for my water bill). They aren't very large - basically one large living room, a kitchen with no dining area, and then the bedrooms. There's no laundry hook-ups, but they've got a laundry area on site.

It's in the ghetto, but it was always safe there - the people that run the place don't let a lot of trash in.

says the same thing - dirt cheap, no problems because the owners discriminate against potential problems. Only issue he ever had was two people 17ing too loud over his bedroom.
