Thanks for the fair warning on what I'll see on Facebook tomorrow from that other side of my family tree.
He can't really believe that can he? The last thing I thought of when watching that video was OM. The idea MSU would have anything on campus of that quality, hell any college campus for that matter, is amazing.

My favorite part was the "5 years down the road" quote -- when I predict we will be striking dynamite sometime around early June of 2015 with an overall completion date of opening day 2017. Think we knock out the grandstand in year 1 and all of the outfield stuff in year 2.

1) Is he really trying to suggest that MSU's current football expansion is going to get us even to their last endzone expansion? The one that was done in 2002? I went to multiple games at DWS and VHS last year, and I walked around the DWS expansion a couple of weeks ago on campus- anyone who honestly has been to both recently and thinks that our football expansion is "getting us to where UM is" needs some serious help. I think Yancy's the only person delusional enough to believe that. Our expansion is so far beyond theirs in 2002 that it's not even funny.

I hope this project will finally be one of those times where the MSU fanbase turns a blind eye and a deaf ear to what the rest of the SEC is saying about us (especially UM). This should be a family matter, and we shouldn't concern ourselves with the irrelevant opinions of what others may say. It felt good to get pats on the back from other SEC fans after the announcement was made, but now we need to put all that aside, and focus on what WE are doing.
Well it's obviously clear from the renderings that we slapped that thing together in the last 2 months in response to their trip to Omaha.....
I have three things to say about all of this.
That stadium looks sweet and i hope you build it. The MS schools need to start keeping up with the big boys and this is a damn good step in that direction.

I think he needs to take an economics course. 20 mil in 2009 is like the same as 22 mil today, so in another 5 years, it may be 25 mil.

If we are talking about football, then I really don't care. I think both schools would be making a mistake to add too many seats and the football stadium capacity with the expansion is a good number for MSU. If we are talking about baseball, MSU does not need to add capacity, it needs to improve the quality of the experience for the majority of that capacity.
He doesn't believe any of that garbage, but he knows the mouth-breathing portion of his readership will lap it up as gospel, and that a good portion of the State fans who read it will be incensed at him. He's probably having a great morning reading the insults being slung at him. It makes him relevant, which is good for business. Smart post by Yancy.
Youre right. The response I got from a bunch of rebel fans was, "Well Steve is y'all's Yancy." Sure Steve picked MSU to the Rosebowl in one of the most homer picks of a lifetime. That really is just SAD. The fans on both sides that partake in that kind of garbage have got to be the loneliest people on the planet. If we build that thing, it will be the nicest facility in the country. Until somebody builds one nicer, which will take a LONG time. I'm glad that Alex Box is so nice, because when my boys get older we'll take in a series down there. Same with Bryant-Denny and the on-field stuff they do before the game. And the river next to Neyland. And on and on and on. I don't think I've EVER seen/been in one of their facilities with a friend and thought ANYTHING like this clown. It is SO much more enjoyable to just take it in and let it be what it is.......a chance to spend time with your friends/family watching your team play whoever. He needs to seriously rethink his mindset. Or take some valium.
