Re: Montez Phillips back with State
_________________________________________________
It is like a jelous girlfriend or boyfriend dealing with the people at the MSU scout site..

Anytime a report comes out that is not glowing for MSU, they have to rush to have a follow up interview stating the opposite.

It is almost comical at how they work over there.

I will leave it at that.

Im guessing that Yancy forgot about his rant about Cohen "wrecking" the UK program and how Ole Miss will get ANY high school baseball player in Mississippi that they want, unless MSU gives more scholarship money. What boggles my mind, is that he can say stuff like that and then come back and say this today.

Swindoll and Robertson just don't say things like that. Rebelbruiser, you can say what you want, but they don't. I don't need to hear "Buckles will be a Bulldog."

He's right about one thing. The scout drama is pretty funny. I noticed that Gene refused to post Yancy's interview with Phillips, even though interviews like those usually get posted on both sites, and then of course it's followed up with a Steve interview to calm the masses.

Of course, that street goes both ways, and Yancy does the same thing a whole lot. The Robert Elliott deal was probably the pinnacle of it all. He spoke out of both sides of his mouth, telling each set of reporters what they wanted to hear. Consequently, they'd go back and forth with Robert Elliott updates in a battle to reassure each set of sheep. Down toward the end, there were typically 2 or 3 Robert Elliott articles a week between the two sites, with each site doing their best to not so subtly recruit the guy for their school.

All that said, who here wouldn't pay to see Gene and Yancy in a cage match?

This guy in one corner:

And this guy in the other:

It'd be a great dork war.

Edited to add: I think Yancy's the one acting a little bit ridiculous on this one. For him to call Montez after he commits and do an interview is fine and acceptable. For Steve to do another interview to check on things when they change is expected as well. However, Yancy's comment is the dramatic part, especially because the interview basically said the opposite of what he was told a few days before.

in pretty much every sense of the words dork, loser, tool, homer, penis envy, etc.

The catch here is, Gene doesn't report MSU's recruiting like Yancy. Rosebowl does, and he's 3x's better than both of those other 2 faggets combined. More professional as well.

The only time you really see drama is when Gene gets involved with Yancy, because they're on the same level.

Rosebowl doesn't stoop to that level. In this instance, Yancy was just wrong and too stupid to admit it.

the insane reactions from rebel fans and boosters when they lose a player that they are "entitled" to. I know this sounds homeristic, but you have to admit it is worse from the rebels. State fans whine and cry and wonder what they have done to deserve what has happened. Rebel fans get absolutely pissed off and confrontational when they lose a player they thought they had. Then they intimidate or take recruits to alumni functions or some ****.

gene is a damn douchebag, but he doesnt intentionally lie **** like that. Yancy is a weasel and lies about **** all year long. Gene is a gimp, but he doesnt lie. Yancy is a gimp that lies and has NO credibility yet the sobs on his page suck up to him.

Steve, he is pretty damn good. Ive joked about him, but he jokes about himself. He is completely trustworthy in my book and always is professional. Gene and Yancy are 2 damn band douches from high school that got left out of one to many kickball games. They both have chips on their shoulders, but yancys is 10x as big. Gene is a sheep and yancy is a flat out lying piece of **** sheep gimp

pretty simple actually. Ole Miss comes from the thinking, "We are Ole Miss, we have tradition, we know we are better, if someone beat us, it's something we did" and MSU fans come from the thinking, "We are Mississippi State, everybody's out to get us, they just think they are better, they really aren't". Both schools have about the same number of fans, same amounts of money, etc. Just a few different traditions, different colors and different signature schooling programs. ****, we all come from the same cities and towns.

This line above applies when we are equal. When one or the other is better than the other one, the lesser one spews venom at an alarming rate, usually played off of the above written stereotypes and lines of thinking. State has an inferiority complex and OM has a superiority complex, both equally effing stupid.

"I just can't BELIEVE Archie let him sign with them. After they way they treated Archie back in 1969, I can't believe he let him sign with them." I just thought God help both you and your kids if they ever decide they don't want to go to UM.

Academically, they're really not that similar. There are very, very few majors for which Ole Miss is the best public uni in the state to attend. And as Dr. Watson mentioned last night, MSU has the highest intering test scores, highest retention rate, and highest grad rate in the state, and that has been that way as long as I've been in school here (which is way too long.)

Your right, Mississippi State is a far far superior academic institution than Ole Miss.

They're the same quality school, which focus on different areas. If you want to be an engineer, go to State. If you want to be an accountant, go to Ole Miss. If you want to be an architect, go to State, if you want to be a lawyer, go to Ole Miss.

you just have to go to UM later.

And OT, is UMC actually "Ole Miss" or is like how UAB is technically a part of "Alabama"?

If you want to be an accountant, go to Ole Miss.

I think you could argue that one either way...

Fact is Gene is a total jort wearing tool.

Yancy is a true Rebel. He thinks he is above MSU and will do anything to prove his point.
He is a huge smart-***, and was raised as a spoiled rich-kid.

You want to do business or management, you go to State. You want to be an accountant, you go to State. You want to do arts, you go to Southern. You want to be a doctor, you go to State and then UMC. Ole Miss biggest major is elementary ed, now tell me how many of those are there working on that MRS. Engineering, Biology, pretty much any science you go to State. Music, go to Southern or Delta State. Architecture, State. The three majors that come to mind to go to Ole Miss for are Pharmacy, Journalism, and law. Hate to break up the feel-good party that is this thread, but while we might be equally sucky athletically, we're not equal academically.

Would love for you to provide your information on our biggest major being elementary ed and MSU's accounting school being better than Ole Miss. I don't feel like looking it up but I am pretty sure you are wrong.

Ole Miss is a consensus Top 30 school. State is not. Ole Miss has a PHD program, State does not.

Go research it if you don't believe me.

Since when did number of degrees given out measure what your best degree is?

Your justification that our number one department is elementary education because that is major with the most degrees given out?

Give me a break.
