1. I think he’s full of **** and we never offered anywhere near that.
2. If WE DID offer that and Pope is so unlikeable that he didn’t take three times the money to come here to the best college basketball program in the country, then that tells you all you need to know about the future and how we need to go ahead and cut ties

Does it matter if it was 5M less or 2M less? It was a significant amount less because he didn't want to play for POPE. He was concerned about Michigan vs UK. The school didn't matter. The coach is what matters and our coach is one that people give up lots of money not to play for. It is a MAJOR problem. If this was the university of Mark Pope I would say we are in trouble. But this is UK and Pope needs to gtfo.

If he wanted money he would have already been here. He has the talent to be in the NBA. He is worried about his career and career earnings so he went with a better coach. A coach we should be willing to roll out the red carpet to get in the not too distant future. We got the people with no NBA future because they knew this might be the only real money they make from playing basketball and they found a sucker to give it to them.

Let's split the difference and call it 8 million.

And let’s say that was 3X more than Michigan.

That puts Michigan at 2.7 million.

Are you telling me you don’t think he could have gotten Michigan to pay 3.5 or 4?

This doesn’t pass the smell test.

If we had 15 chargers on the team we would win against teams with a Ferrari and a couple beaters on the side.

We paid Ferrari money for the altimas. Not even chargers. Give that man year three.

Hell Pope should go ahead and get into politics the way he’s pulling this fleece job off.

I like Dusty May. He’d be my first choice when job comes back open. But are you trying to convince us he’s some NBA star maker? Dude has maybe the same # of guys in the NBA as Pope.

You actually come on here and just show us you really are this dumb, daily. Pretty impressive.

Remember when we got weekly updates on JQ's progress: no-contact practice, then 5v0 practice, then he played. Kinda strange ever since his dad complained about usage, Pope said he was in full shutdown mode, we haven't heard a single thing. I guess it's all part of Pope's beautiful plan, where anything negative about him or the program is fake news. Everything is good here; we just have no recruits and a coach who has proven he can strike out in the portal.

It was Jack and Jacob who said agents and recruiting people were saying that about JMI. Matt doesnt even own KSR , hasnt for years now so why is Matt catching strays ?

THIS. I've said this from day one. SCREAMING DORK. This cannot be FIXED and for this reason alone should have disqualified Pope. Every coach who recruits against UK has this on their laptop to show recruits and ask them if this is the guy that's going to get them to the NBA. In spite of this, Barnhart still hired him.

Sounds like promised playing time might have been the issue. I don't think UK is going to spend 7 to 9M on one player. Could be wrong, but this story is either missing details or is a lie.

NIL isnt paid by the school . there fore you cant FOIA or force a collective or business to give out the info. Cant force a player to give out that info out since its done as their private life

I think Barney has bad mouthed our fanbase at various times and he lacks any level of selling skills. Hes a real boneheaded who did an awful job pumping up our coaching positions. It’s not about UK whiffing it’s about having a coach who is so far out there he’s disconnected from the demographics he needs to relate too.
