Yes or no? Fire Stansbury and get a new coach?

It is reasonable for us to expect him to finish in the top 68(top 20%) more often than not.

....but I only saw 2 years that he didn't finish in the "top 68". Couldn't find last year's final rpi rank or the years 98-99 and 97-98.

I'd be willing to go with 3 NCAA's/5 yrs, as long as I got ~ 2 sweet 16's/decade.

Ultimately, Stansbury's largest failure is the lack of any Sweet 16s. It's become the entire focal point of his tenure, where everything short of that is considered a failure. It's unfortunate that we can't even truly enjoy the successes for the fear of impending failure

It's the same road that OM is in the very early stages of going down with Bianco/Omaha. Alot of similarities between him/Stans really...

Your RPI better be Top 50 or better... You know that... The automatic qualifiers from ****** conferences take up some of those 68 spots.....

because I think his ratings are a much better metric of "how good a team actually is" than RPI, we rate as follows:

Current season - 56
2010/11 - 124
2009/10 - 56
2008/09 - 72
2007/08 - 31
2006/07 - 34
2005/06 - 95
2004/05 - 30
2003/04 - 14
2002/03 - 20
2001/02 - 16
2000/01 - 46
1999/00 - 103
1998/99 - 74

This most accurately shows our recent/prolonged drop off that has so many of us questioning Stans....

I think this should be his last year but he can change that with a couple of wins in March. If he gets 2 wins in the tournament and signs Pollard he deserves another 2 years.

If he doesn't, will have to be an evaluation either with him leaving or looking at staff. As far as Coach thinking the big money boosters wanting him gone, he is mistaken about that. I sit with one at our home games and he is disappointed but not ready to run off a good coach.

but they will back Strick if we dont make the NCAA Tourney...some of the boosters dont want change because of the access they get with Bury- and they let that cloud their judgement on what needs to be done- right Johnboy?

You refuse to believe that most don't want Stansbury fired. That is your agenda but it is not their's.

I know he has alot of them in his corner- it's the only reason he even has a job right now- but even those guys are starting to realize changes have to be made- especially if we miss the NCAA Tourney- and you know this.

he arrived on campus in 1990 I suggest you look at our records in the decades prior to that before youfire him. I would like to do better in the NCAA's. I also like getting TO them every now and then.
