How can so many of you be believing that you're going to the Liberty or Music City?

Look, you'll go to Peach/Gator/Outback.

We went to the Cotton the last two years....which is exactly where we were supposed to go. Do you really think the one of the NYD-level bowls wants a 6-6 team. They don't really even like 7 win teams (with the exception of the Outback who always wants Florida, if available)...but there are going to be plenty of spots to go around.

So quit worrying.

I will personally write a scathing post condemning if you guys go to the Music City or Liberty.

As an OM fan, I have to admit this inferiority complex I'm seeing over here is quite funny...but, crap, some of you are losing your minds and I can't let it go on any longer.

Under Nutt. We've always had very good crowds and the TV ratings are good. People tune in to see good SEC football teams....not crappy ones. You guys will be fine.

Never thought I'd say that to an OM fan but I guess there's a first time for everything. There could be a silver lining in the dark cloud if we get a "lower" bowl such as the MC. We would have a better shot of winning and pushing our overall record to 9-4. That would ensure us of starting next season in the top 25 with theplayers that we have coming back. 9-4 sounds a hell of a lot better than 8-5 to me. Just my $.02 worth.

that ,except for 03, there is noway you would have gone to Cotton this year. LSU was mediocre and Ark., and Aub. were down.

Last year at 8-4 coming off a loss to us, you were VERY fortunate to be in the Cotton.

Look at us. We are 8-4 with a 3 point loss to a BCSCG participant, and lost in double OT to another BCS game participant.

And were are HOPING for Peach or Gator.

BTW, I would have been mad if you guys would've gone to the Liberty/MCB/Compass b/c it's really not fair. I hate losing (and losing to you guys) but I do believe the conference should be fair. After all, if you guys could get shafted in favor of UT/Florida, then we could have, too. A lot of OM/MSU fans need to remember that. We don't have to be "friends" but we do need to be cognizant that if we stand for unfair treatment of our rival at the hands of the "big boys", then we shouldn't expect any sympathy when it's our turn.

In any case, I sincerely believe that, with respect to the bowl selection process, the SEC has made big strides since the more egregious snubs of the '90s. I hope it stays that way and, while I am certainly critical of the overall officiating within the conference, I do believe that Slive has been a vast improvement over Kramer in terms of bowl selection.

The Outback, btw, has been a constant thorn in the side of the SEC in terms of picking "fairly" in the bowl selection process. They are very vocal that they prefer an east team. However, in this case they had a guaranteed madhouse sellout with SC and they, instead, chose Florida. I'm not sure what they could have been thinking, but, as it stands, Florida was going to get a NYD bowl selection sheerly because there weren't enough 8+ win teams to fill those this year. Also, the Gator Bowl made it clear that they did not want UF because of the very close proximity to Gainesville and the bowl exists primarily as a driver of Jacksonville's economy. So, as it was, I think it worked out pretty well for everyone.

As it stands, you guys have a great chance to show that you will sell
out Alltel in JAX. I believe you guys will...I mean, what's not to be
excited about? 8-4 season and an NYD bowl?

Congrats on the season, the win against us in the Egg Bowl, the Gator Bowl berth, and for having your coach selected as the next head honcho at Miami. :)

(hey, i can't be that nice...but do beat RichRod plz.)

I don't have to tell you that, do I? When you look at the Cotton participants in the SEC tie-in era, 8 wins is pretty normal for a Cotton participant. This year, our division is, by far, the toughest in all of CFB. You guys still got a NYD bowl. The only reason the Cotton has a 10 win team this year is b/c LSU was in Orlando last year and there was a fresh team for the Cap. One to pick within one win. In any case, you guys picked a tough year in terms of bowl selection to have a nice season.
