do they want to have those wins that we all know they won back? this is not to mention that they are vacated and not given to the other teams to pad their records. do they want to not have to pay a fine? don't they have a football coach making more than any other in the country? they can afford it. do they want to get rid of their probation which includes no real probationary measures other than saying "you are on probation". hell it will look better for bama when they are winning in the coming years while "on probation."</p>

[Granted, I don't know where he got his info and I don't know if it's valid] that this is Bama's 4th probation in 14 years. If true, then damn! My friend says this appeal is about Mal Moore trying to salvage not just his legacy but his damn job. Apparently there has been somewhat of a groundswell, small but vocal, calling for Mal to "retire" over this. My friend believes the appeal is Mal's attempt to buy time and perhaps quell the pitchfork crowd.

especially considering Ball State had pretty much the same scandal, to a lesser extent, and SELF-REPORTED, and lost a bunch of schollies a couple of years back.

Is it not enough to them that the NCAA basically ignored this whole thing?

i think it would be much better for the school if they walked away from this thing and tried to not give the media any extra reasons to cover the story. we all know they got a slap on the wrist but they shirley don't need to keep putting it out there for all to see. hell they also don't need to be whining about it like a little *****.

so while I heard this, I don't really know what it means. Is this honest-to-goodness, no bowl games, probation? And what season is it that they're vacating wins from? What's their new final record?
