You know who we could really use down the stretch here?

…Montez Mathis. First time I’ve really missed him.
A Coach. One who doesn't let the players decide how they are going to play.
Letting Paul decide he's going to focus on stupid passes vs. scoring points that are there.
Setting up Cliff to take shots he can't make and not making him pass out of double teams..early.
Making Hyatt drive vs. settle for jacking up threes.. then putting his *** on the bench cause he he jacked up threes vs. getting in his face and demanding better.

Just being a coach who can make a difference on both ends of the court. The job is to recruit, game plan, motivate, and make a difference on both ends. Not being able to figure out how to score points and run an offense with what you have is a flaw. It's his job to adjust and maximize his players. He is failing there in my opinion.

This is a over achieving team that is playing to its porential which means strong defense and mediocre offense. Its also a very experienced team that is shown on defense. The lack of shooting skills is shown on offense.Pikiell has done a terrific job achieving nine league wins and with a little luck additional wins can happen.
Sorry. I agree but the offense has regressed badly. . So has rebounding. And lately the defense.

Do we get the current version of our player? I know this is blasphemy around here but I’d take Eugene O

OMG.. this is foolish. Damon Santiago? Douby? Robin James? Eric Riggins? Billet? D. Jones? C. Jones? Anyone on the '76 team? Roy? Kelvin? Clarence T. ?

Anyone who can make a damn basket? (the Scarlet Knight halftime shot from 2021) ?

So you agree that Pike benched Hyatt, but don’t think it was effective because he didn’t scream at him while doing so? And that’s the one thing you think were missing? We are starting Oskar Palmquist.

I said that he should have grabbed Hyatt then got in his face telling him to drive to the rim and not just jack up threes. Hyatt played 28 mins and took 5 shots of which 4 were threes and the other one that classic missed layup..right? He didn't drive (EFFECTIVELY) once! (Thanks Scagg) Do you know what he did vs. Wisky from 2? 4-7. Nebby? 3-7.

What does starting Oskar have anything to do with how Hyatt played vs. UM?

And the 76 team is kinda old by now
The 76 team had an offensive mindset and just might kick this team's *** on the offensive side. Old farts or not lol. They'd pick Paul's hands while dribbling, Eddie was a better defender than Caleb, James could actually make turn-around baskets and not just dunk (which they weren't allowed to do in 76), and they had a fracken bench. Oh and no 3 point line.
Maybe a "pickem " :)

Hyatt passed up a WIDE OPEN 3 and tried to drive and committed a charge

Hey @fluoxetine of course that was tongue in cheek but not entirely false. Did you see them play?

Telling people not to jack up threes is the last thing Pike should be doing. We cause ourselves a lot of problems by not taking ones we should be taking. I'll live with a couple bad ones from Caleb and Hyatt if we can get people pulling the trigger more freely in general.

I agree but there are bad ones and good one's. Hyatt was going to hurt somebody with those misses. It's always the same story. When you suck from outside get closer, make a shot, then move back.

Your answer to the question was that Pike was the one thing you would change. I mentioned Oskar as proof that there are bigger issues than our fantastic coach. As proven today. Make sense?

huh? this is part of what I said..

Didn't the change at the top make a complete difference in the scoring and how we scored and how Cliff got loose to score? Was it an accident or did coach make a change? Oscar went 2/3 and you're calling him out again? (no I don't think he's a stud but wasn't there a big difference in how this offense played and produced?)
