Someone who is a great recruiter. Someone who probably hates OM. Someone who is on coaching staff that will be let go of in December.

Not sure how you get him on staff, but I wouldn't be opposed to it.

That would be Eddie Orgeron for $200 Alex

Who puts up more reps on the bench between Orgeron and Hud? And I would be all for hiring crazy Ed.

That would be awesome.

Give him a nice salary plus a commission for each blue chipper he lands. Or would that even be allowed?

But wouldn't all his great recruiting put yall on probation?****

you can't afford him. that's one of our (msu and ole miss) problems. we may be able to pony up and keep a good HC but when a number of schools will pay a guy like orgeron 1M plus we're not going to be in the game.

Probation (if it leads to winning) is more fun than these last 8 games.

All kidding aside, I completely agree and understand. I hate saying it, but I think I'd honestly trade in being on probation/having scholarships reduced for a few years for a couple 9-10 win seasons.

I think its just par for both of our programs due to the limited resources we both have compared to the others in our conference.

Those 2 years for us (obviously 2010 & 2011) were utterly dreadful. Don't even want to think of the Coach O years, either...

NCAA football is a business of haves and have nots and the haves will always find a way to keep the have nots have nots.

Yall are crazy. We have a guy who can coach OL better than anyone we can afford and a guy with a track record of going and getting undervalued players (ESPECIALLY OL) sitting there at MGCCC who would love the opportunity to come BACK to MSU. When it comes down to it I'd take Steve over O any day of the week.

He'd leave MGCCC too. He interviewed at Auburn when they hired Chizik on the hush-hush for OL coach.

Maybe I’m being obtuse, but what does this mean exactly?

The pressure to win big with a roster of highly recruited players?

We're not the only 2 programs whose fans would prefer winning games and going on probation to losing and being clean. Pretty much every major program is right there with us on that.

I would love for us to be able to bring him in. I've wondered for a long time why we haven't done this or tried.

When Orgeron brought the first few 4-5* players and laid them in Mullen`s lap and Dan proceeded to drop the ball with them the pressure would mount and Dan would be forced to cover his ***. I suspect a lot of this has already happened only not with high profile guys like Orgeron.

Well I'm sure coming to Starkville for one season and only winning 2 games and getting slighted by Croom left a bad taste in his mouth. Hard to feel bad for him when he was winning national titles while we were watching the WCO though.

Now that Mullen has signed several of his players I'm sure they have rapport, and if there's any possibility of getting him I really hope it happens. Like I said, he interviewed with Auburn. It's not like he's a scrub. MGCCC always has a ground and pound attack.

When did Orgeron start coaching OL?

Another vote for this and jacksonreb's post.

About our only hope is to find a T-Boone or do some crazy outside the box ****. Which is sort of hard to do, seeing how football is really a simple sport. Signing a Cam Newton is about all I can come up with, and we whiffed on that.

At least the Rebels have the Mannings.

Not sure he "hates OM" in its present form. Nutt, Boone, Kyatt, sure--but they are all gone now, and he's Freeze's mentor. Also I can't imagine a worse personality clash than Mullen and O-- two megalomaniac, hyperintense, type-A personalities. He'd probably come back to the scene of the crime before he want to MSU. Fine with me--they can have him.
