in the Junction that don't pick up after themselves. You are going to ruin for everyone.

Got this off of gene's premium board. Guy said the picture was taken at 10:30 Sat night.

What the <17> is wrong with people? Hell, they provide garbage bags for those too lazy or cheap to bring their own.

Wow...I didnt think it looked that bad before I went in the game.

They must have cleaned it up quick b/c I was at the stadium at 9:30 sunday morning for stadium cleanup and they had the Junction clean.

I can attest... That picture doesn't do it justice. It was bad. There seemed to be an influx of underagers acting like they had never had a drink before. There were numerous fights and people stealing **** from others' tents... We left at about 11:30 and when we were done you could clearly see where our area was. there was nothing left there, but it looked like someone had cleared out an area in a garbage dump. it was extremely embarrassing. I know my crew is moving out of the junction for the next game. I have a bad, bad feeling that they're about to start cracking down on alcohol consumption on game days.

I never wanted it to come to this, but I think the answer is to start assignong tailgate lots... make people pay for them, and hold them accountable.

plus, security will get on your *** if you make a mess. I don't see a trash can in that whole picture. They even hand out garbage bags in the grove for free too.

We do hand out trash bags... they're hanging at the entrance to most aisles. All you have to do is grab some, tie them to your tent, and throw your **** away. But nooooooooooo, it's way too cool to throw MD 20/20 bottle on the ground. I wish our police would get in people's face for leaving the place that way, but the sad thing is I didn't see one cop Saturday night. That's not to say they weren't there, but they definitely weren't highly visible. There was a fight that went on for probably 30 minutes...well, I say it was a fight, but it was more of a hug-fest than anything... but there was still no security presence to break it up.

I'll give it to Ole Miss on that, the Grove would not look like this after a game.

I'm still not sure of how they legally do that, but they do. Well for us, beer is illegal on campus, but they'll take your liquor too if you are acting like an idiot.

...the Junction is going to be laid out in a grid of something like 20'X20' squares. You'll have to rent your space, or possibly it'll be assigned by priority. Then, if there is trash on your spot after the game they know exactly who to fine.

I drove by in the traffic around that time and could not believe it. It was a damned disaster zone.

And if I left my spot clean, and some jerk like Dawgstudent threw his crap from three spots over onto my spot, how exactly does CSI:Starkville plan to prove the trash is mine?

I immediately propose MSU promotes Pimp Doggie to Director of Junction Cleanliness. You come to my tailgate and try to leave trash on the ground. PD will not allow it.

And I would produce a picture of my spot the way it was when I left the Junction and tell them to suck on it while I walked. I am all for picking up trash and prosecuting litterers, but they better have a better plan that that.

Wow! What a freaking mess...I know garbage bags are available but we need cans as well..People get drunk and don't want to deal with garbage bags but maybe they will take a look at throwing their beer cans somewhat close to garbage cans....I have been to several Ole Miss games with my reb friends and I'll have to say the garbage cans do make a difference....They are all over the grove and when folks leave, many will set their full garbage bags next to the garbage can....We need cans folks....

Talked to a guy that went and he was talking about how the Junction might be done for. Said it was terrible.

If that guy noticed it, much less was actually bitching about it, it must have been bad.

that we threw all of our **** away. We must have had 7-8 trash bags piled up when we left. So I would just like to say thank you to everyone who was there for picking up. (You know who you are)

However.....a "tailgate" right across the walk path from us left their spot looking like a Afghan refugee camp.
Not only that but these "hippies" blasted the same over played Widespread Panic and such, went shirtless most of the day, threw their left over food on the ground instead of throwing it away, left their chairs AND tables, and to top it off instead of taking their tent down and taking it home the just tore it down into a tangled heap of metal and nylon and left to go I'm sure "burn one down".

Pick your **** up! If it keeps at the rate it is going now I will be forced to tell stories about what the Junction used to be.

They need those cardboard trash can set-ups, that way the hole unit is disposable, & I think it is perfectly acceptable for the tailgaters to pile their garbage bags around the cardboard trash cans

it's a privalage, not a right to be able to tailgate @ a campus location like this, & they are going to have to bust some asses.

Is there alot of young, college age kids, tailgating in the area ? When I was on campus, we always went to parents tailgates, they could afford better food than we could, we never even considered setting up a tent

ground or table, no matter who's it is, search their tent, if they find any alchohol related stuff, make them dump their ****, in front of everyone, in shame for all to see. Then make them either clean their **** up and leave or go to jail. Plain and simple.

You don't see Bell looking like that. Everyone out their leaves it like they found it. Every now and then you get some new folks out their but we all pick up after each other.

that I see everywhere else except in the junction? The tents are set up Friday night, why can't someone come through early Sat. morning and put out ample amount of cardboard cans by the tents. Then, campus security lightly patrols the bad sections looking for this **** while it is happening. It is beyond me that MSU would not anticipate the garbage, that picture is how half of those students living rooms look.

the rule outlawing alcohol on campus is probably only to be enforced on gamedays as needed. you don't want to piss everyone off by running around writing tickets and confiscating alcohol, but if someone is doing something you don't want them doing, you should surely enforce the law.

it's kinda like when you get pulled over for speeding on an interstate where everyone else is speeding too. "but everyone else is doing it too." "Yeah, but i caught YOU." there's not much you could do about it, unless you can argue discrimination (which i doubt you could argue at either the grove or the junction).

...I am well aware any university is full of spoiled brats who think showing disrespect to the premises is somehow cool, but as Tony Soprano would say: "You don't **** where you eat. And you sure as hell don't **** where I eat."

The School could provide 1000 garbage cans and the sob's leaving trash on the ground would continue to leave trash because they are low life scum. The trash that needs to be disposed of are the people who do not have enough pride and respect to properly contain trash. The post game condition of the Junction can not be blamed on the School, they have provided us with a beautiful place to gather with friends and family to enjoy the pregame activities and I am very thankful for this. After the game I politely approached a group that had a tremendous amount of trash on the ground and offered them trash bags, needless to say they told me where I could place the trash bags. The next time I will have the Police with me. I have been tailgating at almost every home game for the last 30 years and never have I been so sickened as I was last Saturday night. I beg all responsible MSU tailgaters to HELP eliminate the cause of the problem by making the litterbugs know they are not welcome! If the problem continues the University will have no choice but to stop tailgating in the Junction.

They'll figure out, just as ours did, that you have to put out garbage cans AND hand out garbage bags, because some people are just too lazy if there isn't something with in 5 feet.

You should see the Grove on Friday mid-afternoon. Its not a sea of tents, its a sea of Ole Miss designer garbage cans, which then get moved into individual tents by tailgaters.
