You tools still think the RSS cant play in the NBA???

There is not a shot he can put up right now that Varnado wouldn't have put in another zip code if they played in a scrimmage.<div>

RSS can be out of shape and lazy and still have a pretty good game against college competition, and can show that he has the physical ability to play in the NBA. You're not retiring 60 players out of theNBA each year. Most of the people you draft are going to be busts and there aren't really even 60 players in the draft each year with NBA athletic ability, so lots of really long shots are drafted. RSS has the tools to be in the NBA. Somebody will draft him and hope he decides to get his *** in gear. It's a lot bettershot than hoping somebody with marginal talent somehow improves or finds the right spot on the right team. If RSS plays like he did last night, even if he's lazy on defense and has a general attitude problem, somebody will draft him in the first round and he will get guaranteed money, which will probably make it less likely that he gets his *** in gear.</p>
The NBA drafts on potential, and boy does the RSS have it. Last night was what his 5th game of the year, come back on here in March and tell me that the RSS doesn't have a shot in the NBA.. I might be wrong, but I think not...WalkTheDawg said:

that will let him play in the middle of a 2-3 zone most of the game? Wake me up when he shows that he can score 20 and play even mediocre man-to-man defense in the same game for more than 15 minutes. 'Til then, I'm not sold on him or this joke of a team.
If you watched the game and did not see a glimpse of what the RSS could be come then you are blind. He just needs to get motivated and get in better shape, the rest will come. He has great vision on the court, and a smooth outside stroke. The NBA loves Big men that can hit the 3 ball. If he keeps playing like last night and losses a few pounds the rebounds and blocks will come. He will get drafted on potential in the first round and sit on an NBA bench in the near future. If he really wants it, you might see him in a starting NBA lineup in 3 years.
"If he really wants it"......that is the key. Hell Ray Charles could see the talent and the potential and he very likely will get drafted. However the NBA is about money and if Sid does not do something about his maturity, attitude, and weight problem then no one is going to spend money to keep him on a roster.
Getting drafted and making a roster are two different things. I hope I am wrong. I would love to see Sid get his crap together even though I would miss my nut.

but he has a lot of baggage, a bad attitude, conditioning problems, and he has a whopping 23 boards in 4 games.
I could see somebody taking a flyer on him late in the first round, but there's no way in hell I'd do it as a GM right now. That could all change as the season progresses, but as of now, he would be a huge gamble in the first round. I just don't know if there are any teams that will take that gamble.
Right now, I'd say he's 60/40 on coming back next year.
Of course, if he's stupid enough to go without a first round gaurantee, or knowing he'll be a 2'nd rounder...then this all goes out the window and he's definitely gone.
Edited to add: I just looked at several mock drafts and no one has him higher than 50th. Right now, he's a very late 2nd rounder.

If they SOB keeps his bearings, gets into shape and play hard like last night, he is a unstop able force in the NCAA. If he plays like that for the remaining of the season, his *** is in the NBA. He might not be1st roundmoney but he will be on a roster.
THere are only two rounds....so reference to "late rounds"...I don't understand. If you are drafted in the 1st round, you get a guaranteed multiyear contract. Basically you are a millionaire. Lottery gets you a bunch of money, but 1st round gets you guaranteed multiyear. 2nd round and you get nothing. If you come into camp fat, they cut you and you go to greece or russia and are never heard from again.
