Whatever happened to the douche of the year award? This is way worse in my opinion than a college kid bailing out on some tickets. This is a grown man who has made a commitment to lay down all selfish endeavors and spend his time here on earth serving others and telling of a higher power's love. I'm not as bold as most but calling out a high school kid's spelling takes some balls for anyone especially one that supppsed to inform a large group of people on weekly basis how to be a representative for your god.
I might would give him a pass if his career was different like a snake oil salesman or a drunk because that's the kind of behavior you would expect. But to deliberately contradict everything you stand for in life, in the public's eye might i add, takes a special kind of person.
Isn't this the kind of behavior what the award embodies in its candidates? Actually renaming it after this worthy humanitarian will finally set the criteria for potential applicants at the standard it deserves. No longer we should be giving it to those commit a douchey act but rather those that live day to day in a douchey way. as the expectation stardard for the douche of the year increases we should do the right thing and put aside a collection (and take small donations) to award future winners with actual trophies and deliver it to them. Hell maybe someone can get a title sponsor, I don't know, but I do feel this should be bigger than what it is now (that's what she said).

And then turning a blind eye to wild drunken recruiting parties where a girl winds up getting raped?

No I think he was probably always a stupid ignorant douche. That's the type of people who flip their commitment the way he did, using message boards and the coach leaving as an excuse, then show some of the benefits he received to do so, to the point it ends up in the news. Not to mention the hypocrisy, he was anti-OM until the dead period. His stu-ignor-douchiness just grew exponentially while attending OM. It may be his major.

That's not being a Devil's advocate. That's just being stupid. When we recruited C.J., he wasn't make dumbass tweets or comments. It wasn't until he decided to Ole Miss that he started talking about white girls swallowing, taking pics of Z71's.
CJ claimed he was broke but within a few weeks of getting to Oxford, tweeted about how he traded his new Range Rover for a new truck. Classic.
That was really pathetic, and especially for a pastor of a church. No surprise on Kiffin's actions. I bet the MS Baptist Convention Board is not happy with Pastor Odom's actions, if they are even aware of how he is conducting himself in the leadership role of First Baptist Canton. His congeregation should not be either.
