Mine:

The State/Ole Miss game at Starkville in (I believe) 2003.
They were whipping us, official karl hess made a handful of terrible
calls, and Stansbury flipped out on him. Got two technicals, gets
tossed, makes a choking gesture to hess, Dawgs roar back and we wind up
beating the rebels handily. Craziest I've ever seen the Hump. As I
recall, Stans said he watched the remainder of the game from Polk's
office.

I was watching from mid-court, about row 4, surrounded by Bama fans I went to church with. It was glorious.

I will also remember his Kentucky hillbilly usage of the English language. Especially the term 'freshmens' Also the scratchy voice after tough games. Don't remember hearing it this year oddly enough or maybe not so oddly......

and him falling back, laying on the floor, with his follow through arm still out in the air.

And if you recall, to get it back to Stansbury, that was after the lane violation to wave off a second FT that would have pushed the lead to 4. RS basically walked to mid-court to make them call a tech or the violation.

His late entry to the block on the free throw really got in the shooter's head to save the game.</p>

At the tournament in Tampa, we all remember the shot of one of the boys talking to Dee on the bench during one of the games. South Carolina maybe? After the game the TV guys were interviewing Rick and they showed him the clip. Stans got a genuine kick out of it, and for a moment he wasn't a coach, just a father laughing about something funny one of his kids did. Always stuck with me.

Anyway, if you recall, he was asking Dee if he wanted to go swimming at the hotel after the game, and SixPack almost came apart at the seams even though we won. Lots of internet tough guy points awarded that day.

The entire 1st 1/2 of the 2009 Sec Tourney Champ? Someone finally corrected him (like someone will actually correct me).<div>
</div><div>Aside from that.... the best was the look on Stansbury's face after Phil Turner drained the 3 from the parking lot to seal the win. I don't think either team scored a basket after that......Stansbury had this incredulous OMG....don't!!...holy **** he made it and how will i phuck this up look on his face.....good times.</div>

- Zimmerman putting the black bears away on that last second layup in Oxford.
- Shane Power and co. obliterating the vaunted Florida full court press in Gainesville and walking out with a sizable win on the road. This game always sticks out to me, b/c this was back when nobody could seem to figure that press out. This is one of those games that proved to me that Stansbury was no fluke as a head coach.
- Any win against Vandy in Nashville.
- Any win against upig in their little slice of nowhere.
- Watching Ben Tylersbrough nail 3 straight FTs to send us to OT (eventually victory) against South Carolina in '07. I had walked away from the TV because I was too nervous. I was carrying my few-months-old son at the time. I decided to do what I would want my son to do: be a man. We watched all 3 go through the hoop and that has stuck with me.
- Big Dummy's 3-pointer against Kaintuck in the '07 SECT to send it to OT (and FTW).
- Any road game in 2004. For some reason, the game against South Carolina stands out to me. I remember Bowers just nonchalantly draining a 3 at the end (OT?) to win it. It just seemed so graceful and easy.
- The overall 2004 SEC title is hard to top. The SEC was stroooooong that year. Damn strong. That had to have been Rick's finest hour as a head coach.

Thanks, Coach Stansbury. These memories will stay with me forever. Good luck to you.

when Charles Rhodes kissed the msu logo in the middle of the floor. But my favorite moment from Stans personally was we were plsying Memphis when they had Derek Rose and Jamont playing toe-to-toe w/ an eventual NBA MVP basket for basket. And as the remaining seconds ticked away in that game as we lost Stans grabbed Jamont around the waist on his way out and turned him around as Jamont's aparrently crying and says something in his ear and pats him on his back. I know that we've played some good teams but to me that's my favorite game we've played in under Stans. That was one bafass basketball team. And THAT state team was my favorite of ALL the teams I've ever watched play...even the 96' team. It was something about how gritty we were w/ Jarvis & Rhodes down low that I loved about that team.

they were busted for cheating, and I still think we should hang a Sweet 16 banner for that year. Screw vacating wins....they cheated, they should forfeit.

I wasn't there, though. I watched from Rosey Baby's*. They were still running a special that everyone got a free beer every time the Dawgs drained a three-pointer. We hit tons that day. Bowers was on fire. The game ended at around 3-4pm, but we didn't finish our free beers until around 8pm that night. I think the folks at Rosey Baby assumed we would leave after the game and forfeit the beer we had been promised. WRONG! That was my favorite game.

*a Cajun-style bar/restaurant that was in the warehouse building next to the train tracks downtown for those who don't know (I don't think it's there anymore)...food was godawful, but they had specials on oysters and a beer club with $1 tap if you were a member.

Wiiiiiinnnssooooommmeeee Fraaaaaazzziiiiieeeerrr (as Hank Flick would say) gave me the gift of drunkenness that night. That was a hell of a game.

I was at the game in Tuscaloosa. I almost left at halftime because we were down about 16 points, but my girlfriend convinced me to stay. I stayed and got to see the dipshit Bammer fan, who sat behind me, repeatedly kicking his chair (in front of his wife and 2 kids) after we won. That was the greatest feeling after a sporting event, as a fan.
