How would you feel & what would your reaction be, if Stoops resigns at the end of the season, & Barnhart hires another coordinator with zero head coaching experience to take his place? What would you do & what would be the reaction of the UK fan base?

Stoops isn't going to resign because it all but guarantees he doesn't ever get another head coaching job anytime soon. But we can dream.

Heorgia hited a coordinator but now we're too good to hire one? Yall think there a good proven head coach out there who wants to start over at Kentucky? Who are these coaches? Oh wait, you just want to ***** and moan and can't answer that. It seems to be a theme on this board.

not that we are too good, but UK is too HARD for a 1st year head coach - Stoops, Joker, Mumme, all failed (or in slow motion process of failing). experienced former head coaches had minimal success, Claiborne & Brooks. Georgia is a superpower with set up past success & recruiting base so of course talented coordinators like Richt & now Smart can be successful.

I'm sure there are several who are in-between jobs who'd love to move to the SEC, or prove themselves again, or enjoy building another program. Butch Davis, Tommy Tubberville, Jim Tressell a couple who pop to mind.

Depends on who it is. We may very well end up with another coordinator. The problem wasn't the hiring of Stoops it was having zero accountability. Then topping it off with a ridiculous extension.

Might be the hardest coaching job in the country. No place to learn to coach - errors are magnified 10X.

There are good coordinators out there that will make good head coaches, but it's a big risk, plain and simple. Especially when you failed miserably with the last two unproven coordinators that you hired. Kirby Smart is a little bit of a different deal, he's a whole lot less of a risk considering his pedigree and what he has at his disposal at Georgia. He's the outlier, not the norm. There aren't going to be any proven winners out there that want to come here (without a lot of baggage) but there's no reason on earth we couldn't/shouldn't hire an up-and-comer like Brohm. At places like Kentucky you're going to have to get creative with your hires, plain and simple. That's why it's so important to have an AD that has creativity and vision and a guy that knows football inside and out, frontwards and backwards.

I think Mike Leach, Jeff Brohm and several others would be interested.... There are plenty of lower division coaches who have excellent resumes.
