Disney is perfectly fine with the way things are. This one may last a while. I switched today. Went with DIRECTV. Not happy about it but Disney owns the other options for me.

I hope they figure it out but it's not looking good. The longer it drags out the more it feels permanent, like when YTTV dropped RSNs.

I'm torn, because without ESPN/SECN the service isn't that valuable to me and definitely not worth $85 a month. But with it, especially if they were to add access to WWE content is good enough value to keep.

The best part of YTTV is unlimited DVR and being able to jump around games on Saturday, but also my parents can use it when they visit. I could go piecemeal subscribe to Peacock/Paramount/HBO/ESPN but until those apps can replicate changing channels easily, I'm not terribly interested in dropping YTTV.

I am torn on what to do with YTTV also. I have been leaning to Fubo but now I may go with Hulu Pro. I also think the dispute between YTTV and Disney has reached a dead end. Seems Disney hold the cards with ESPN.

I am done with YTTV. I understand its more Disney holding the cards, but YTTV constantly does this with other networks, then they over pay and moves it to consumers. I think I'm gonna go with the HULU Live package with disney+ espn+ especially with them partnering with Fubo

This is what we did. Already had Disney+ for the kids and they just upped their price for the standalone. We will end up paying about the same as with YTTV but getting ESPN+ out of the deal

I'm not sure why, but i get every game on the ESPN app, including the + games. I log in with credentials from a relative, not sure what she's subscribed to (it's an ATT streaming service), but i get everything.

For those sticking with YTTV, you realize you'll miss State basketball and baseball games too?

I dropped yttv in early Sept and have been pleasantly surprised just how little I've missed it. I would've guessed for certain I'd be back on that narcotic by now.

I've been surprised how easily I've found workaround for football games, I'm curious to see if that will extend to basketball.
Yuup, you can find NFL and College football games on regular youtube for free. Supposedly, you can buy a Chinese box on Amazon that gets every channel there is.

I am not too good with this streaming stuff, I do have YTTV. How did you go from $80 per month to $30 per month.? I am assuming this is a bundle and how many channels u get on Hulu with is this bundle. Do you pay one price for both or pay sperate to each?

Hot take. Disney is losing $5M per day to help explain their quarterly losses coming up soon in their earnings report,. I am guessing the rate that they are asking YouTube TV to pay is not worth carrying the channels at a loss, so YouTubeTV is not going to give in. Guessing YouTube TV would have to increase monthly cost to over $100/month which they will not do anytime soon.

It will eventually get resolved but what you are witnessing is the beginning of the end of the TV bundle packages. It is inevitable. You may be able to get it all from one place like YouTube TV but it will all be a la carte and you can build your own bundle for more than you pay today, or you can just buy direct and install each app.

Toss a little money to stock on SPP, who owns Tablo and stations like Bound, Grit, ION, etc. I would expect to see them grow as people start using over the air local TV for free and using a Tablo device. Worth keeping an eye on.

If one already has the Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle, it's not that much more to upgrade to Disney/Hulu/ESPN Unlimited and get everything ESPN and SEC Network.

It's apples and oranges. ESPN Unlimited/Hulu/Disney+ doesn't have the same live TV content as YTTV. You'll get all of the ESPN stuff, but nothing else, and then access to ESPN+/Hulu/Disney's streaming library. If you use YTTV for locals/traditional cable channels, its not the same. So $80 with live channels down to $30 with only live content being the ESPN family of networks.

Hulu DOES have a live TV add on that I can't remember the price, but it puts Hulu closer in line with YTTVs cost.

The Hulu bundle with live tv is $89 I believe. That's Hulu Live, ESPN+, and Disney+ all bundled together

And they get access to everything that is on any device you use on your network. No thanks

But that's not HULU Live with everything YTTV or other providers have. HULU isn't user friendly and really limits you.

I'd get Sling Orange with ESPN but wifey needs TLC and Bravo. I already get locals with an antenna. I mainly want sports channels. I don't watch Disney.

I just switched to DirecTV because it had everything I needed and its actually cheaper than YTTV for the first few months. The only problem is that the app is terrible. It is slow and hard to navigate. It also buffered throughout our game last night. With YTTV I never had stream quality issues.

So one of the great things about YTTV is that they put "CDN"'s everywhere close to the ISPs. This just means the distance over the internet from your phone or your TV is not far and they have LOTS of them (Google knows how to do this well because of YouTube and knows where to put them). It also means that the YTTV app on your phones will be better than others for TV streaming, better than the ESPN app and better than any other TV streaming apps. Side note inside baseball here: Google knows that ESPN struggles with delivering video efficiently without buffering and Google knows YTTV is the best at it. So they are giving ESPN the middle finger about this as well because ESPN content works better on YTTV than on the ESPN app. So the more that sign up for ESPN on the ESPN app the worse the buffering will be (kind of like what everyone sees with Starlink service, oversubscribed)

I am probably moving to FUBO. The reason for not going to HULU is they only allow 2 devices streaming at a time. We have 4 TVs in the house and when I'm home on the weekend we may be streaming 3 as a minimum. With FUBO you can stream up to 10 devices at a time. I left satellite for this very same reason. So I guess moving around will be the way going forward.

Why would anyone ever put up with this? If the app is terrible and it buffers any at all, it doesn't matter how cheap it is.

I think YTTV is letting Diz dig their own grave.
This could wind up in a court room. JMO

Customers can get all the other 90ish shi-tty channels that are on YTTV from any of a number of other streaming, cable, antenna or satellite providers, even for less $$ in some cases.

You can get all of the ESPN/Disney/Hulu stuff from them plus Hulu Live for the same price or less (all Disney owned). The only difference is the interface. Sounds like they are smart to me to herd people to their system.

I don't have a dog in the fight, got rid of cable/satellite/streaming services about 12 years ago and haven't looked back. Antenna on the roof w/ 15 good channels (and a few crap ones), no more than 1 paid service at a time (Netflix/Prime/Hulu/etc), 4 County Fiber Internet and all the free Pluto, Tubi, FLEX, ROKU Channel, YouTube, etc channels that I want and I spend a MAX of about $99/month INCLUDING my high speed fiber internet. Don't be a slave to the damn tv.............

I have Ceasefire fiber and NEVER have any issue with lagging buffering etc., on the ESPN app., even when watching games on my phone. Watching CBS games on Prime is another matter though.

I canceled my youtube AND Disney accounts. I'm sick of both of them. I'll do the sling one day when needed.
