There are thousands of hosts that will give you full control of your forum without any interference. They will offer support, but only when asked. I just don't understand why it has to go through YUKU? Why not just have sixpackspeak.com and pick whatever forum you want to and have full control over it? Is YUKU a web community or something? I just don't get it. If you own sixpackspeak as your domain name, why not just host it on a server that gives you complete control over everything? There are thousands of hosts that will support a third party software like phpBB or some other forum that is in the threaded format. However, the threaded format is way outdated. Why have it? The Swan had it in 1995, so that is what you are going to stick with? There are so many options out there that are so much better then this. I guess it goes right along with MSU football though. Mediocrity at its best. I do not mean to disrespect DS. DS is the man. This YUKU though just isn't doing the trick. Time to look for a new scheme. Time to fire Woody and look for a new OC.

when rivals changed recently no one liked the non-threaded view. It is much better being able to see the replies than not.

And moving to our own servers? Will you be the one to write the code, and maintain it? I don't get paid for NAFOOM, and DS doesn't get a ton for this place. If we had to do all that ****, the site would have times it went down for whole days, not just minutes.

at least from what I've seen. I don't see anything about a message board.

I've been looking for alternatives to yuku, but anything that may be better is really expensive. As in we'd have to have a subscription fee to pay for it. And no one wants that.

find a board that behaves like this one with the threaded view and you can read all the replies under it (not have to click on every post to read) and I will be happy to switch. The view we have here is the same as most other boards that have the flat view but you can see all the threads. Truly threaded view makes you click on each post to read it. Here, you can click on one and read all the "children" of that particular post. That's what we all like and something I have not found.

Vbulletin does have a hybrid view which is what we use here but it's not truly the same. They also have a view that kind of looks like this but it is 3rd party and breaks the vbulletin support licencse.

I have only seen the server down message a few times. And every time I clicked refresh on my browser and it worked just a few seconds later. I do not post very often but I am on the site a minimum of 10 different times per day, especially with the tropical depression that just dumped over three feet of rain on Central America the last 4 days and more on the way with Hurricane Omar in the Caribbean. Yuku may be down every once in a while, but that is only a sign that repairs and changes are being made. I vote for whatever helps keep costs down and provides good support to keep it's sites running.

is awesome when it tells you just which posts are new, not which threads have new posts. Hell, some people don't even used the Marked Read function, those are the ones who don't understand why we like this format.
