I disagree, it has essentially no impact. We could miss a Regional the next 5 years but if we are winning in football and Jans continues to do his thing, his job is safe.

If a SEC institution hires or fires an AD based off the baseball program, then they should be kicked out of the conference. All the negative economic impact associated with the university and town, that will inevitably come their way, is deserved.
And I actually don't disagree with anything you just said. IF football is winning and Zac is raising money like the New Jersey mafia, I fully agree that baseball is going to have zero impact on his job security. My point is that this is just one scenario, though.

What about scenario 2 where football is 5-7 in year 4, baseball is Missouri level bad, Dudy Noble is springing leaks, we're $3M in the red due to massively overpaying a bad baseball hire, and said coach is running around banging CoEds?

Maybe Selmon would get canned at that point for football alone, but I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree that baseball in no way matters. Cannizaro's shenanigans put Cohen in a very bad spot, and there's a reason that he took care of that as swiftly as he did.

Does shenanigans mean loins?

Looks like he’s the right guy & has been extended.

negotiate against yourself. the MS State way. nobody was coming to snatch Selmon away. There was no reason to bump up like that, or even extend him before he's even made a hire of consequence that works out well. If he was that hot of a commodity, he'd already be gone. Allegedly, he's already interviewed with three or four schools (2 of which were HBCUs), and nobody has hired him
My first thoughts exactly! We did a great job bidding against ourselves..... Why pay $100 when you can pay $125!!!

Hold up! All we've heard is how he's trying to get out and has interviewed and will be hired up. Now it's "Nobody wanted him"? LOL ok....you don't get interviews if there's no interest
