The Trump admin did that in the interest of National security. I have already posted that I do not agree with it.

But that pales in comparions to the avowed communist Mamdani. "If he tells you who he is, believe him" - Maya Angelo.
So the actions of the president is socialism. Why isn't he a communist in your eyes then?

Secondly, you seem to continue to misuse the word "avowed". Show me where he verbally called himself the exact term communist?

Third, the quote is "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time."

Grocery stores that don’t have to pay taxes or rent! It’s just free!

Someone explain opportunity cost to Zophran. There is no such thing as free.

He misunderstands just as he misread the website where he thought the funding was. Grade A moron.

Ohhhh nooo not a liar!!!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I’d respect him more if he just came out and said “I knew it would give me a better chance of getting accepted.”

But I want the people of NYC to get what they want. If they want him, by all means give it to them.

It will undoubtedly increase my property values here in SC

I see they are trying to go with the "controlled" messaging like they did with Kamala. No authenticity. Of course, authenticity will require him to tell everyone what he really thinks. And that will tank his popularity.

Full communist and isn't shy about it.

there's a part of me that hopes he gets elected. Then we'll get a chance to see just how effective all these "socialist/communist" policies work in the US. Unfortunately, a lot of his tax proposals and free MTA concepts have to be approved at state level and Hochul has said that part of his plan is DOA. It will be interesting to see how his grocery store idea goes. It might seem that distributors would maintain the same prices as today but Mamdani has proposed a $30/hour wage, full benefits of course, no taxes on the stores (which simply results in less tax revenue for the city), but he'll lower prices. Should be interesting Kind of reminds me of Obamacare - we'll add 41 million more people to an existing system, lower reimbursement rates to doctors and hospitals, save an average of $2,500 per family, and improve health services. That worked out well for us didn't it. I'm sure that the grocery stores though will be better.

We have a comparison already. Karen Bass is a Castro communist and somehow also the mayor of LA. Not a good trend at all.

Another disturbing trend.

Queens, New York: The Warning Signs Are Screaming

Queens now hosts over 100 mosques, not counting the Islamic schools, cultural hubs, and political front groups multiplying across the borough.

And yet, despite this vast infrastructure, Muslims still took to the streets to flex their power - a show of dominance, not devotion.

This is a civilizational beachhead.

In the recent Democratic primary, Zohran Mamdani, a dangerous Muslim socialist, captured 46.1% of first-choice votes.

Combine that with NYC’s growing 10% Muslim population, and the demographic engine behind this massive ideological shift comes into focus.

Five times a day, the Islamic call to prayer blasts from loudspeakers - not devotion, but domination.

We’ve seen this script before: Europe’s mosques multiplied. No-go zones formed. Sharia dominated. Politicians caved. Civilization retreated.

And now, it marches forward across America—unchecked, unopposed, while politicians either stand paralyzed or line their pockets and look the other way.

This isn’t about religion. It’s about conquest.

As Bernard Lewis warned, “Islam is not only a religion… but a whole civilization.”

Its goals are clear:

➡️ Restore the Caliphate—by force or by vote
➡️ Subjugate all others under Islamic law

Islam was never just a faith - it was born as a political system cloaked in spirituality.

Its founder seized power, enforced rule through “divine” law, and declared sovereignty belongs to Allah alone.

To the devout, there is no Caesar and God. There is only Allah.

Islam doesn’t seek coexistence. It seeks submission - through persuasion, immigration, or the sword.

And it hides behind the shield of “religion” to do it.

Is this what we want ruling our schools, our courts, our neighborhoods?

Islam doesn’t assimilate. It dominates.

He wants to reduce the jail population. A worthy goal, but i don't think this will work out like the left thinks it will.

Democrats openly run on higher crime.

He is an avowed communist. He does not hide it. Good luck NYC. Remember, you get what you vote for.or e

All my life I have tried to wish the best and better for all people.

I think I may have approached my life in a less than realistic manner.

I am thinking that the people on here who disagree with me on safety and security

I am now decided those people need to have their families , loved ones and themselves live with the murderers, rapist, kidnappers, child pedophiles, sexual predators and just criminals in general need to have their homes doxxed and put these people next to their house.

Let their children, wife, family , loved ones and themselves live in fear and never have a decent nights sleep in this life and the next.

MAY MY CURSE AND HEX BE
FOREVER ON YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES

YOU DESERVE WHAT YOU SOW

SO I AM FULL ON NEW YORK GETTING WHAT THEY VOTE FOR AS THEN THEY WILL DESERVE IT

God asked if there were any righteous in Sodom and Gomorrah

Folks pack up and leave NYC if you love your family and yourself

Leave the city to the JACKALS

And we have the Governor of NY endorsing him.

Crazy that this guy is the candidate of a major political party. Also crazy that the NYC electorate is likely going to give him the job.

It's going to be interesting.

How do our lefties feel about Mamdani eliminating gifted and talented programs in schools if he wins election?

It was a corrupt program. Abuse of tax payer dollars to provide quality education to primarily well off kids whose parents didn’t want to pay for private school. He’s allocating those funds to the broader school district.

That being said, I think it would’ve been better to restructure the program so it wasn’t abused. You have to have an outlet for talented kids who aren’t challenged by a standard school system but their parents can not afford private school.

How was it being abused?

My son is in the equivalent (called SAIL here) and it seems like a good program and I haven't heard of any abuse here. Not that I would even know how to abuse the system. There are straightforward test score thresholds to be admitted.

Congrats on having your child get accepted.

Note that De Blasio also wanted to terminate the program, and that it’s only proposed to be terminated for elementary school.

What I’ve been told is that parents with means are investing in test prep in order to get kids qualified so they don’t have to pay for private school. It wasn’t giving access to gifted, but instead the most prepared. There is also a lot of evidence that homework in elementary school is a net-negative for students. So let kids be kids and start identifying who is gifted in middle school.

I’m not a fan of Mamdani, but the establishment dems are terrified of him and are twisting a lot of his messaging. He’s not an insider so they feel threatened. What a worthless group of people.

Our kids test in during 2nd grade (you can test in later as well if you don’t make it in 2nd). I don’t know of any parents who have done test prep, but they could be out there. It’s an affluent public school with a bunch of families who could do private if they wanted to or thought it was best for their kid (we don’t).

6th grade (middle school) is too late imo, but I’m not an educator. My son doesn’t really have extra homework from SAIL. He had one project last year but that’s it.

I think it’s good he gets extra instruction, more advanced material and the confidence boost of knowing he’s a bright kid. It would be a shame if the program were to go away.
