According to Extra Inning Softball, two Alabama Crimson Tide players have entered the NCAA transfer portal. Pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl and center fielder Dallis Goodnight will be leaving the program, looking for better opportunities elsewhere. Four players have now decided to transfer out of Alabama since their season ended on Tuesday.

Kilfoyl pitched in 18 games this season for the Crimson Tide, making 13 starts. Her best performance of the year came against the Florida Gators, pitching eight innings and only giving up one run. She was able to pitch in five complete games, giving the pitcher 80 total innings on the year.

Now, Kilfoyl will be leaving to become a program’s No. 1 pitcher. With Montana Fouts deciding to come back to Tuscaloosa for one more season, Kilfoyl will want to be an ace elsewhere during her senior season.

Goodnight had just completed her freshman year with Alabama, playing the majority of her games in center field. She appeared in 50 games and started in all but four of them, having a 94.2 fielding percentage. In the batter’s box, Goodnight hit .302 with one home run and eight RBIs. Goodnight was also able to draw 11 walks and led the team with 18 stolen bases.

Alabama pitcher Montana Fouts announces return for next season

Alabama crashed out of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, failing to make the Super Regionals after losing to Stanford in Tuscaloosa. Star pitcher Montana Fouts did everything she could to help the Crimson Tide pull out two victories on Sunday but the Cardinal were able to prevail in a Game 7.

Fouts, who has been with the softball program for four years now, had a decision to make on whether or not her Alabama career was over. On Tuesday, Fouts announced there would be a fifth-year and she would be back in the circle for head coach Patrick Murphy next season.

“That’s why I will stay HOME, and keep bleeding crimson. This is a Home and a culture that will pump through my veins until the good Lord calls me. You’ll see me proudly wearing the A next year. I don’t have to think twice about that.

“Murph- not only are you a hall of fame coach, but you’re a hall of fame man. I’ll die on that hill so Bury me In Dixie, Sweet Home Alabama, Roll Tide and Amen.”
