Jalen Milroe shares feelings of returning to play in Texas

When Alabama was preparing to face off against Texas, quarterback Jalen Milroe was a key component in the storyline. Not only was he from the Lone Star State but he was a one-time Longhorn commit. There were plenty of ties between the two. However, the game was still played in Tuscaloosa.
Milroe will now be heading back into the state of Texas and closer to his hometown of Katy. College Station is just over 80 miles from there, being considered part of the Houston area. Saturday’s game against Texas A&M is a homecoming more than the Week 2 matchup.
Heading into the game, Milroe was asked about his feelings in regards to returning home. He shared his love for Texas and his respect for Kyle Field. He knows there is a difficult challenge ahead of Alabama, playing in one of the best atmospheres in college football.
“I will say Texas is a great place,” Milroe said. “That’s where I was born and raised. I’m from Texas, love Texas. I will have a lot of family there. It’s going to be a great game, a great atmosphere. We have a challenge this week. Big opponent. They have a great defense, a great offense. So, we’re excited.”
A media member also asked Milroe for a food recommendation for anyone heading to the Houston area for the weekend. His answer? You cannot go wrong with any of the food in Texas. The safest bet is hitting any kind of Tex-Mex before enjoying a game that could end up deciding the SEC West.

Jalen Milroe getting second career start against Texas A&M
There is some familiarity all around with Texas A&M for Milroe. Before this season began, his lone college start came against the Aggies when Bryce Young went down with an injury. He squeaked Alabama to a win, keeping the College Football Playoff dream alive at the time.
Milroe will enter Saturday’s game with some more experience and arguably more confidence. His last two performances, both against SEC opponents, have brought some belief back into the Alabama offense. While Texas A&M will have a tougher defense than both Mississippi State and Ole Miss, Milroe will certainly feel prepared to play.
Everyone in Tuscaloosa will be hoping Milroe is able to replicate the result of his first start against Texas A&M. If so, a statement will be made and we may be thinking differently about the Alabama offense come Sunday morning.
