Jameson Williams began his college career at Ohio State, but transferred to Alabama following a lack of playing time in Columbus. In just one game with the Crimson Tide, he showcased why he believed in himself.

This weekend, Williams had four receptions for 126 yards, adding a touchdown as well. The touchdown was highlight reel stuff, a 94-yard scoring play that electrified the Crimson Tide.

Following the big performance, Williams spoke about his decision to transfer to Alabama, detailing his comfort with the program.

“I was real comfortable coming to Alabama,” said Williams. “It’s a great environment, I loved the environment, everything — I feel like I fit in well. With my mindset and the mindset of the guys I play with, my brothers. So I felt real comfortable.”

Williams didn’t just join Alabama, he joined an Alabama receiving corps that’s been home to greatness over recent seasons. From Jerry Jeudy to Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith, the standard has been set for Williams.

With Waddle and Smith in attendance for Williams’ big day, the newest Alabama wide receiver mentioned that he’s felt like a part of the Alabama family from day one.

“I feel like I’m a part of those guys when I committed to Alabama out of the transfer portal,” said Williams. “Once you’re Bama family, you’re family.”

Williams is endearing himself to his teammates and former Alabama players, and he’ll continue to do so with big plays like he made on Saturday.

‘We just had to go to work’

Additionally, it’s impressive that Williams has such great chemistry with his teammates already. In a short period of time, he’s carved out a role where quarterback Bryce Young trusts him to be there for him.

When asked about his chemistry with the Alabama quarterback, Williams mentioned that things were simple.

“I would say it happened fast. It didn’t take a lot of time. When you trying to do certain things, you get going with things,” said Williams. “I feel like me and the guys fit in well, we became brothers quick. First day I got here, we all linked up, everybody showed me love. Everybody showed me love when they seen I committed to Bama on Instagram.

“Everything was pretty much simple, we just had to go to work.”

Furthermore, Williams and the rest of the Alabama offense made things look simple in their trouncing of Miami this weekend. While many questioned how the Crimson Tide would follow their legendary offense last season, those questions were put to bed by their performance.

Jameson Williams is finally in position to thrive, and thrive he will as a member of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
