Paul Finebaum addresses future moves Alabama could make in transfer portal

One of the key challenges for head coaches is roster building. In the modern game, that means finding a way to balance using the transfer portal and recruiting from high school. Even legendary coaches like Nick Saban need to find a way to balance his approach at Alabama.
During his appearance on McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning, Paul Finebaum broke down those future moves that Alabama could make in the transfer portal.
“Some of it depends on what kind of attrition he has in the next few weeks,” Paul Finebaum said. “And because Alabama is playing in the Rose Bowl, I think we’ll hear a little bit less about it.”
Each program is going to take a different approach to the transfer portal. Different things are going to work in different places and for different coaches. For a place like Alabama, Finebaum expects that the Crimson Tide will try to add a couple of key players through the portal.
“But I think, ultimately, they’re looking for high quality people. There are not that many spots on this roster that are screaming for replacements but I think it won’t be hard to figure out a couple of positions if they’re available, I have no doubt they’ll go after them because I think Nick Saban can see the same thing everyone else can see. In fact, he can see it sooner that a couple of key players can turn you into a national championship contender,” Finebaum said.
“Oh, and by the way, Alabama is already a national championship contender. It can turn you into a winner.”

Alabama Jalen Milroe raves about coaching job of Nick Saban this season
After the SEC Championship Game, Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe praised the job done by Nick Saban and the rest of the Crimson Tide coaches.
“The biggest thing as players that we can do best is be coachable. Coach Saban, the biggest thing I want to do is be a sponge for all information because end of the day all of our coaches are pushing us to be successful,” Milroe said.
“To speak about our coaching staff, man, they push us every single day. We set short-term and long-term goals before the season started. We have to be coachable, be receptive to all coaches. Find ways to improve and get 1% better each and every day.”
