Antonio Jordan injury update: Sam Pittman reveals timeline of return for Arkansas WR

Arkansas opened its 2025 campaign on Saturday with a 52-7 drumming of Alabama A&M in Fayetteville. It marked Arkansas‘ fifth consecutive win in its season opener, dating back to 2021.
In the win, 10 different receivers hauled in at least one reception. Redshirt senior O’Mega Blake led the way with seven receptions for 121 yards and one score, followed by sophomore CJ Brown‘s four receptions for 49 yards and two touchdowns.
Three-star freshman wide receiver Antonio Jordan likely would have seen playing time in the blowout win, but was held out due to an injury he suffered in camp. He will be out for a couple of weeks, Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman revealed on Monday.
“I think Antonio’s gonna be, I don’t know, three weeks from now,” Pittman said on Monday. “It was a non-physical (injury). His foot caught in the ground while he was trying to catch a ball, but it was a serious high-ankle sprain. Those are usually about a four-week recovery and especially at that position, because you might get back a little earlier if you’re like an offensive lineman. I’m still gonna tell you probably three weeks from today.”
Jordan is latest in long line of former Warren WR’s at Arkansas
Jordan was a three-star recruit out of Warren High School (Warren, AR) and was tabbed as the No. 761 ranked player in the Class of 2025. He was the No. 14 ranked player in the Razorbacks’ 2025 recruiting class and continues the strong pipeline of Warren wide receivers to Arkansas wide receivers, joining Greg Childs, Chris Gragg and former First Team All-SEC selections Jarius Wright and Treylon Burks.

“I know (Antonio’s) a freshman, but we’ve seen enough out of him this summer in his off-season workout in the weight room and his running ability that we think he can help us, too,” Pittman said in July.
If the three-week timeline that Pittman gave is in fact correct, that would mean Jordan would be returning just in time for preparation week before Arkansas‘ massive home game against Notre Dame. Those two programs have never met before and it is expected to be one of the biggest college football games of the week.
Following the dominant win, Arkansas improved to 1-0 and will now look towards its clash with in-state rival Arkansas State on Saturday. The game will be played at War Memorial Stadium, Arkansas‘ secondary home stadium in Little Rock. Although it would seem that the two programs would have met before, the Razorbacks and Red Wolves have also never met on the gridiron.
