Jalen Brown injury update: Arkansas WR carted off field after gruesome leg injury

Arkansas WR Jalen Brown suffered an apparent leg during the third quarter against Notre Dame. He was later carted off the field.
Brown was targeting in the end zone by QB Taylen Green, but the pass was broken up. On the way down, Brown suffered what looked to be a gruesome injury. He immediately favored his left leg after the landing.
He was fitted with an air cast before being taken away. The ABC broadcast showed Brown being wheeled off the field with an ambulance in the distance. ABC/ESPN sideline reporter Taylor McGregor confirmed that Brown was taken to a local hospital.
While Brown was on the ground, his teammates surrounded him and appeared to provide the wideout with words of encouragement and well-wishes. He received a standing ovation from the fans still on-hand inside Razorback Stadium.
“I’m standing down here on the sideline and as all of his teammates came over, the message was the same: ‘We love you, JB. We’re here for you, JB.’ Certainly a lot of emotion felt out here on the sideline watching their teammate get put on a cart,” McGregor said during the broadcast.

Brown finished the game with one reception for 11 yards. Coming into the Week 5 matchup, the sophomore wideout logged 11 receptions for 156 yards and two touchdowns during his first four games as a Razorback. He previously transferred into the program after playing one season for Florida State.
A Miami native, Brown caught eight passes for 75 yards as a true freshman in Tallahassee. Though he was originally committed to LSU out of high school, he never played a snap for the Tigers. Instead, he opted to move back to his home state for a season before finding himself in Fayetteville for his sophomore year. He’s a former top 100 recruit.
While it’s unclear the exact extent of his injury, medical personnel at the game quickly deemed the ailment severe enough to have it treated at the hospital. His status for the rest of the 2025 college football season remains to be seen.
Looking ahead for Arkansas, the Razorbacks will be on its bye week during Week 6. The’ll return to action the following week for a road trip to play No. 15 Tennessee in Neyland Stadium. Things don’t let up from there, as five of Arkansas’ last seven games are against teams currently ranked in the AP Top 25 poll.
