Hugh Freeze's daughter posts, deletes TikTok about father's deteriorating health after Auburn firing

Madi Freeze, the adult daughter of now-former Auburn head football coach Hugh Freeze, reportedly revealed concerns about her father’s deteriorating health in the months prior to his firing Sunday in a since-deleted TikTok posted to her personal account, according to the New York Post. The 56-year-old Hugh Freeze was diagnosed with an early form of prostate cancer in February but received the go-ahead to continue coaching this Summer.
In the deleted TikTok video, Madi Freeze acknowledged feeling “a relief factor” in the days following her father’s in-season firing on Sunday. Madi appeared to suggest this season’s on-field struggles and subsequent hot seat talk had taken a toll on her father’s health in recent months.
“In some twisted way, there’s a relief factor for me personally because I’ve watched my dad’s health just deteriorate over this,” Madi Freeze said in the since-deleted TikTok video, according to the Post. “Other people can see it, I know y’all can see it, he’s not healthy.
“I’m thankful there’s relief that my dad finally gets to have the surgeries that he needs, and they’re scheduled, and he’s going to get healthy.”
Prior to the start of the regular season, Hugh Freeze revealed he would delay treatment to address his prostate cancer until after the 2025 season, citing his doctors’ belief his cancer is “treatable and curable.” Earlier this Spring, On3 insider Chris Low, who previously worked at ESPN, revealed Freeze’s doctors gave him the option to undergo surgery to have his “slow-aggressive form” of prostate cancer removed in June or in January following the 2025 season.

“I feel as good for this camp as I probably have in years,” Freeze said in late July, just prior to the start of Fall camp. “I don’t think anything about the health right now — whether that’s right, wrong, or indifferent. I talk to docs — I had three of them text me yesterday. They’re awesome. I’ve got a great team around me, but I just don’t have any — I mean, I don’t feel sick.”
Freeze was fired Sunday following Saturday’s embarrassing 10-3 home loss to Kentucky, which dropped the Tigers’ record to 4-5 overall and just 1-5 in SEC play this season. Freeze’s Auburn tenure ended nine games into his third season on The Plains, where he finished 15-19 overall and 6-16 against SEC competition.
Madi, short for Madison, is a student at Auburn and regularly attended Tigers football games with her father. She often posting videos of her experiences to her personal TikTok account.
“We loved Auburn, and the second we got here, everybody was very adamant that if you love Auburn, it will love you back,” Madi Freeze said in a recent video, according to the Post. “Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for us. …. We don’t wish bad upon them, but we do hope that they turn to the lord and find Jesus.”
