Clemson loses commitment from Princeton transfer Jaelin Llewellyn

Just one week after landing one of the top transfers in Jaelin Llewellyn, the Canadian point guard from Princeton has decommitted from Clemson and has reopened his recruitment, he told On3 on Tuesday.
“Just want to say thanks, and show appreciation to the guys that I have met on the team, as well as the coaches and staff at Clemson, as they were great hosts during my visit. I am still considering Clemson as my home for next year, but due to recent changes, my family and I have decided to reopen my recruitment in order to reconsider the best options,” Llewellyn said in a statement to On3.
Within the last week of Llewellyn being committed, there have been two significant coaching staff changes. On the same day of his commitment, Clemson assistant coach Antonio Reynolds-Dean accepted an assisting coaching job at Georgia. A few days later, Clemson lost another assistant, this time in Kareem Richardson who agreed to a gig at NC State.

The coaching staff changes likely led to Llewellyn’s decommitment, and just like that, he’s once again one of the best available transfers on the board.
Prior to choosing Clemson, Llewellyn also visited Alabama. He also received interest from Arkansas, Miami, Florida, Tennessee, Villanova, and others.
Llewellyn averaged 15.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists last season for Princeton.
