Burlington (Mass.) athlete Ronan Hanafin flies a bit under the radar playing in the Northeast.

But the 6-foot-3, 200-pounder has become one of the most sought-after prospects in the country, in large part due to his versatility. Certain schools have recruited him as a safety, while others want him a wide receiver.

Clemson, LSU, Notre Dame and Alabama have each made a run at the No. 11 athlete in the On3 Consensus, but it’s Dabo Swinney and Co. trending in the race to land him.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), the Tigers hold a 66.3 percent chance of securing his commitment. That includes an expert prediction from Clemson insider Matt Connolly, as well as other updates around the industry.

Hanafin took official visits to Clemson, Alabama, Notre Dame and Boston College in June, and coming out of the month, Notre Dame was considered to be the leader in his recruitment. But Clemson has remained in pursuit of him, selling him on the idea of playing wide receiver. The Irish, too, want him on the offensive side of the ball.

The Tigers currently have just one wide receiver — Rockwall (Texas) four-star Noble Johnson — currently committed in the 2023 cycle. With 19 commitments already in the fold, Clemson currently stands at No. 8 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
