Duke catches heat from Appalachian State over nearly identical uniform reveal

Duke football has revealed its uniforms for its week three game against Northwestern. The Blue Devils will be rolling with their traditional all blue uniforms for the home contest. The uniform reveal is a cool video that shows a Duke player emerging from the water, revealing the uniform. The only problem with the reveal? It’s essentially a carbon copy of a uniform reveal from North Carolina foe Appalachian State last season.
Duke tweeted its uniform reveal for week three on Thursday afternoon.
The reveal itself is very well put together by Duke. Most of the responses to Duke’s tweet, though, are calling out the many similarities in the video to Appalachian State’s week one uniform reveal from September of last year.
Uniform reveal drama aside, Duke is looking for a big victory over Northwestern
In week one, Duke was one of many ACC teams that lost. The Blue Devils, though, lost 31-28 to Charlotte, which was the first win over a power five program in the history of its program. Duke bounced back last week with a 45-17 win over North Carolina A&T.
Quarterback Gunnar Holmberg has completed 71.4 percent of his passes so far, but he has only thrown for a single touchdown. Duke has showcased a strong running game with 502 yards and nine touchdowns as a team, averaging 6.1 yards per carry. Mataeo Durant has led the attack with 296 yards and six touchdowns through two games.

Duke’s 251 rushing yards per game leads the ACC, but its 181 rushing yards allowed per game is the worst total in the conference. The Blue Devils are currently sitting at 13th in the ACC Power Rankings produced by ESPN’s FPI.
Duke’s week three opponent, Northwestern, also sits at 1-1. The Wildcats lost 38-21 to Michigan State during week one. Northwestern, like Duke, bounced back with a victory in week two, defeating Indiana State 24-6.
Funnily enough, Appalachian State’s uniform reveal during week one of last season was against the same Charlotte team that recently defeated Duke.
