WATCH: 4-star safety Kamari Wilson shares video from Florida official visit
Fort Pierce (Fla.) IMG Academy safety Kamari Wilson took an official visit to Florida this weekend, despite the Gators not being listed in his top four schools earlier this week.
Last night, the four-star safety posted the Gators’ recruitment video for him on his Twitter account. The video shows clips of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, fans and ultimately, Wilson in a Gators uniform.
The video is the result of an NCAA rule change that allows programs to create personalized videos for recruiting purposes. Until now, the creative teams at programs were prohibited from personalizing any video or audio sent to recruits and had to follow production specifications outlined by the NCAA.
Wilson is the No. 35 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 3 safety and the No. 6 prospect in Florida.
Kamari Wilson is considered a Georgia lean
He will make his announcement December 15, the first day of the early signing period, on ESPN. He will choose between, LSU, Georgia, Texas A&M and Florida State. But given his visit to Gainesville, it’s possible the Gators could sneak into the group of finalists.

But the odds-on favorite for quite some time has been Georgia. The ‘Dawgs already landed his high school teammate, Bear Alexander, and Kamari Wilson has been vocal on Twitter about Georgia. After the Bulldogs’ loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game, Wilson tweeted, “It’s Still Go Dawgs.”
He took an official visit to Georgia in October, and also tripped to Florida State last month. He also used official visits to Texas A&M and LSU this summer.
On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons wrote earlier this week that he still expects Wilson to ultimately choose the Bulldogs on Wednesday as his college destination.
