Notre Dame RHP Ricky Reeth commits to Florida out of NCAA transfer portal

The Florida baseball team has picked up an experienced arm out of the NCAA transfer portal. Notre Dame‘s Ricky Reeth announced his commitment to the Gators on Twitter on Thursday afternoon.
Reeth has spent the past four seasons at Notre Dame, where he has racked up 47 appearances on the mound. He’s been heavily involved as a reliever over the last two seasons.
In 2025, Reeth posted a career-best 4.31 ERA, working 48.0 innings and striking out 43 batters. He allowed just 12 walks and had five wild pitches.
Ricky Reeth’s longest career outing was a five-inning performance against Miami on March 23, 2024. His career best for strikeouts in a single game is six, which he accomplished on Feb. 25, 2024 against FIU.
Florida, which should return a good chunk of its starting rotation from this season, is looking for pitching help from the transfer portal. Ricky Reeth should certainly help in some regard, though the Gators are still looking for some left-handed relievers, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

In any case, you can expect more transfer portal activity from the Gators in the coming days. Coach Kevin O’Sullivan plans to find some additional help there, while Florida could see some defections, as well.
Florida softball loses a key piece
While Ricky Reeth is a nice addition for the baseball team, the Florida softball team suffered a bit of a blow on Wednesday afternoon. Second baseman Mia Williams has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned. The daughter of former NBA star Jason Williams, she was an All-American this past season.
Williams put together a breakout year in 2025, hitting .335 with 19 home runs and 44 RBI as a sophomore. Her slugging percentage also jumped to .714 as she helped Florida make a run to the Women’s College World Series, which ended with a loss to Tennessee last week.
For her efforts, Williams was an NFCA Second Team All-American and a Second Team All-SEC selection. A product of Windermere (Fla.) Windermere Prep, she will have two years of eligibility remaining.
On3’s Nick Schultz also contributed to this report.
