Tallahassee is one of the many recruiting hotbeds around the country this weekend as the spring recruiting period picks up. Florida State is hosting multiple elite prospects, including a top-10 recruit committed elsewhere.

Manchester (Ga.) five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry has been committed to Georgia for over a year. He headlines the Bulldogs’ top-three recruiting class in the 2025 cycle but is checking out the Seminoles this weekend:

Terry has made it clear that his pledge to UGA is strong, but he’s still looking to take his allotted visits and check out other high-profile programs. He’s also set to see USC later this month.

“I am strong with Georgia, but I will take my visits,” Terry told On3’s Chad Simmons in February. “Georgia tells me to go out, explore other options and come back to Athens any time I want because they will always be there.

“Georgia is the school I am committed to and nothing has changed with that. I will take some official visits in the summer, I am still working on dates, but I think schools like Alabama and Georgia will get one for sure, as well as maybe Florida State, USC and some others.”

The Noles are no stranger to Terry, as he’s made multiple trips to see FSU throughout his recruitment. Relationships with Mike Norvell and the staff in Tallahassee have the ACC program still fighting for his pledge.

“I have been there a lot, so I know about Florida State,” Terry said. “My connection with (associate head coach/defensive tackles) coach Odell Haggins is real and he is just a good guy. I love his character. He has been around Florida State a long time and we have a good relationship. I also like (head) coach (Mike) Norvell and what he is doing with the program.”

Justus Terry Recruiting Profile

Terry is the No. 8 overall prospect and No. 2 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Georgia.

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power writes this about Terry as a prospect:

“Justus Terry has a tremendous frame and build for an interior defensive line prospect. Stands in at 6-foot-5, 275 pounds with excellent weight distribution throughout his frame. Wins with first step and lateral quickness, has rare get off and leverage for a player of his stature. Quality bend and ability to change direction, comfortable in space. Uses his length to initiate contact consistently and sheds blockers with ease. Able to anchor and two-gap if asked to in run support. Will need to continue to fill out and gain functional play strength at the next level. Should be able to carry an extra 20-30 pounds on his frame. High upside prospect who will be in consideration for a first round selection in the NFL Draft.”
