Georgia is making moves in their player personnel department.

According to On3’s Matt Zenitz, Louisiana’s Will Myers is joining the Bulldogs as their Director of Player Personnel.

“Georgia is expected to hire Louisiana’s Will Myers as director of player personnel, sources tell @On3sports,” tweeted Zenitz. “Before Louisiana, Myers worked at Ole Miss and South Carolina.”

Per Zenitz, Myers has previous SEC experience, with gigs at Ole Miss and South Carolina on his resume. Now, he’ll return to the conference with Kirby Smart’s squad.

Additionally, Zenitz added that the opportunity opened up for Myers when Georgia’s former Director of Player Personnel Matt Godwin decided to chase dreams outside of the sport.

“Matt Godwin, who’s been Georgia’s director of player personnel, is set to step away to pursue opportunities outside of college football, sources tell @On3sports,” added Zenitz. “Godwin has been a leading figure as Georgia has posted top three recruiting classes each of the last three years.”

Glenn Schumann to return to Georgia after interviewing for Philadelphia Eagles DC opening

Meanwhile, Georgia co-defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann will return to the school after interviewing for the Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator job, according to ESPN’s Chris Low.

Schumann was the latest college defensive coordinator to interview in Philadelphia, following Michigan’s Jesse Minter and former Wisconsin interim coach Jim Leonhard. The Eagles have yet to make a hire to replace Jonathan Gannon.

Now, Schumann returned to Georgia in an attempt to help the program win a third straight national title.

“Glenn Schumann, after interviewing for the Philadelphia Eagles’ DC job, is returning to Georgia Football, sources tell ESPN,” Low wrote on Twitter. “That’s big news for the Dawgs. Schumann was co-DC and called plays last year for two-time defending champs. Georgia had already lost OC Todd Monken to (the) NFL.”

Schumann was previously a name to watch for Alabama’s defensive coordinator job back in January, according to Bruce Feldman.

Schumann was the co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach at Georgia since 2019. He joined the staff in 2016 solely to coach inside linebackers and then got the title bump. Schumann is only 32 years old.

Schumann worked alongside Dan Lanning — a former Georgia DC who just finished his first season as the Oregon head coach — and currently serves as co-DC alongside Will Muschamp. He came to Georgia from Alabama, where he got his coaching start under Nick Saban.

Schumann was an undergraduate analyst at Alabama for four years at the beginning of Saban’s tenure, from 2008-11.

Then he served as a graduate assistant coach from 2011-14. He was bumped to the role of director of player development and associate director of player personnel at Alabama, a job he held for two years in 2014 and 2015.
