Georgia receiver Michael Jackson III intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett shortly after the SEC Championship Game.

Jackson has logged just one catch for 10 yards this season for the Bulldogs, not really featuring into the offensive plans.

He transferred to Georgia ahead of the 2024 campaign, having previously spent three seasons at USC. While with the Trojans he racked up 46 catches for 498 yards and five touchdowns.

Michael Jackson III’s best campaign came in 20222, when he recorded 17 catches for 236 yards and broke out for four touchdown receptions.

Prior to enrolling at USC, Michael Jackson III was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 287 overall recruit in the 2021 recruiting class. He checked in as the No. 15 overall athlete in the class, while ranking as the No. 2 overall player in the state of Nevada, hailing from Las Vegas (NV) Desert Pines.

Georgia DB Julian Humphrey to enter transfer portal

Michael Jackson III isn’t the only Georgia player set to enter the transfer portal, as defensive back Julian Humphrey has also announced his intentions to enter.

Humphrey finished his sophomore season with 10 total tackles (nine solo) and four pass breakups. He was 21 tackles and five PBUs on his career. He started in 10 games for the Bulldogs this season.

Humphrey entered the transfer portal after the end of his redshirt freshman campaign, but ultimately decided to remain in Athens for another season. He has opted to re-open his recruitment with two seasons of collegiate eligibility left.

In 2022, he played as a reserve defensive back in three games, preserving his redshirt. That season, he was a piece of Georgia’s second national championship in as many seasons. He stepped into a larger role during the 2023 season, but missed time because of an injury.
