Evans has spent two seasons at Georgia. In the 2024 campaign, he played in 11 of Georgia’s 14 games. He finished the season with nine catches for 88 yards. He also tallied three rushing attempts for 50 yards.
Evans also served as both a kick and punt returner this season. He returned seven kicks this season for 124 total yards. Moreover, he fielded 17 punts and returned them for a combined 129 yards. Evans had his best showing of the season against Mississippi State when he hauled in four receptions for 41 yards.
In his true freshman campaign in 2023, Evans made eight appearances as a reserve receiver and returner. Most notably, Evans recorded a 28-yard punt return in the SEC Championship against Alabama.
Anthony Evans played high school football at Judson (TX), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 197 overall recruit and No. 27 wide receiver in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

In his senior season in the high school ranks, Evans led Judson to a Texas UIL Class 6A DII second round finish, registering 880 yards and eight touchdowns on 66 receptions. Now, he’ll look to find similar success wherever he lands next.
Evans will be the ninth player to enter the transfer portal for Georgia this offseason. Five of those players have already found their next home, with Michael Jackson III, Jake Pope and Rara Thomas still available in the portal. Georgia is yet to bring in any transfers via the portal but are ranked No. 51 in On3’s 2025 Team Transfer Portal Rankings.
The transfer portal officially opened on Dec. 7 and closed on Dec. 28, though players on teams still playing in the postseason will get an additional five-day window to enter the portal after their seasons end.
