Iowa has started the campaign for Caitlin Clark to claim back-to-back Player of the Year awards in a unique way. The Hawkeyes sent out a package to media members that included a box score of Clark’s historic game against Michigan, where she became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA women’s basketball history.

As if that weren’t convincing enough, Iowa also shipped a box of Clark’s cereal — “Caitlin’s Crunch Time.” The cereal, which is part of an NIL sponsorship Clark has with local grocery chain HyVee, features the Hawkeyes star smiling with a printed autograph on the box.

HyVee dominates the grocery market in Iowa, Missouri and Kansas. Clark joins quite famous company in having her own cereal, as Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have also had cereals featured at the store.

Clark’s cereal is sugar-frosted flakes and each box provides fans an opportunity to win an autographed basketball from the Iowa guard. All proceeds from Clark’s cereal benefit the Caitlin Clark Foundation.

Caitlin Clark’s On3 NIL Valuation is now up to $910,000, a significant jump from last season. The valuation is No. 30 in the On3 NIL 100, which is the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation. She ranks third among women’s college basketball players behind LSU stars Angel Reese and Flau’jae Johnson.

Although her NIL accomplishments certainly prove her superstar status, nothing speaks more to Clark’s Player of the Year case than her performance on the court. She leads the country in both points per game (32.4) and assists per game (8.5).

Clark needed just eight points to break the record entering last Thursday’s game against the Wolverines. It took her just a little more than two minutes to get it as she pulled up from the logo for a 3-pointer with 7:48 in the first quarter to enter history.

“Y’all knew I was gonna shoot a logo 3 for the record, come on now,” Clark said after the game.

Clark didn’t stop there, putting on a show for the home crowd to finish with 49 points, a Hawkeyes single-game record. She added in 13th assists to record her 58th career double-double for good measure.

At this point, it seems a forgone conclusion that Clark will repeat as Player of the Year. Her statistics and play alone get her that, but the cereal certainly doesn’t hurt.
