USC transfer QB Miller Moss commits to Louisville

Former USC quarterback Miller Moss has committed to Louisville, via the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3’s Pete Nakos has confirmed. Moss announced his plans to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 2.
Moss spent four seasons with the Trojans. He played sparingly in his first two years in Los Angeles before appearing in seven games in 2023, including a breakout performance in the Holiday Bowl where he threw six touchdown passes.
He took over the starting role in 2024 after Caleb Williams‘ departure for the NFL, but had an up-and-down campaign before being benched after nine games in favor of transfer Jayden Maiava.
Moss finished this season completing 64.4% of his pass attempts for 2,555 yards and 18 touchdowns compared to nine interceptions. He boasted a 135.1 passer rating.
The Bishop Alemany (Calif.) product was a four-star recruit out of high school and ranked as the No. 208 overall prospect and No. 22 QB in the 2021 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Now, Moss will take his talents to Louisville with hopes for a fresh start. The Cardinals posted an 8-4 record in the regular season this year. Senior Tyler Shough was the team’s starting quarterback.
Shough transferred in from Texas Tech last offseason. In his debut season with the Cardinals, Shough tallied 3,195 passing yards and 23 touchdowns while only throwing six interceptions. He has no eligbility left after this season, clearing the path for Miller Moss to be Louisville’s next QB1.
Moss is excited for the next step in his journey.
“Looking towards the future, I’m unwaveringly committed to becoming an even better quarterback and leader, and to achieving this at the next level,” Moss wrote in his statement declaring his decision to transfer.
