LSU is in the midst of a massive 2025 College World Series matchup against UCLA. Both teams already have one win under their belt, looking for a second. Getting to 2-0 would put them in the driver’s seat to participate in the championship series.

Some program royalty is in the building to take in the affair from Charles Schwab Field. A day off for the Pittsburgh Pirates means Paul Skenes is in attendance alongside his girlfriend, Livvy Dunne. Both are quite familiar with Omaha, dating back to LSU’s national championship run in 2023.

The couple has some pretty good seats as well. Ahead of first pitch, they were spotted near home plate, a little closer to the LSU dugout. Prime viewing spots to watch LSU at college baseball’s most pristine venue.

Skenes will not make his way onto the mound as much as head coach Jay Johnson may want him to. Last time the star pitcher was inside Charles Schwab Field, he was dogpiling alongside his teammates to celebrate a national championship. While Skenes did not pitch in the clinching game, nobody had a bigger impact while in Omaha than him.

Tennessee and Wake Forest were on the receiving end of two great performances from the eventual No. 1 overall pick. He hurled 15.2 innings of work, giving up just two runs (both of which came against Tennessee) while striking out 21 and only walking two.

Usually, Skenes would not be able to travel during the summer. Playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates takes top priority, even on days he does not pitch. However, Monday is an off-day for the team after wrapping up a four-game series against the Chicago Cubs on the northside. Tuesday is Pittsburgh’s next game up in Detroit for three games vs. the Tigers.

Last time out, Dunne wore a custom jersey. One side had the traditional LSU purple jersey, while the back had Skenes’ last name in a black Pirates uniform. Dunne even took time to FaceTime Skenes, who was still in Chicago, after the LSU win alongside other fans in attendance.

Skenes will have the privilege of watching this game with his own two eyes; no FaceTime will be necessary. This might be the first time he has gotten to see LSU in person since leaving to start his professional career. And there is no better stage to take in a game than the College World Series.
