LSU star Angel Reese has a new piece of hardware to commemorate her dominance this tournament after being named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2023 Women’s NCAA Tournament. Reese led the Tigers to their first national title in school history, averaging 21.3 points and 15.2 rebounds per game across six tournament games.
She finished against Iowa with 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals — and personal recognition for her greatness alongside a national championship.
Angel Reese named Most Outstanding Player
Reese’s path to a national title is a direct result of her own willingness to relocate to LSU during last offseason and buy into coach Kim Mulkey’s vision. Reese transferred to the Tigers from Maryland, and became the biggest offseason addition to Mulkey’s squad. Before the national title game, Reese had been averaging 23.3 points and 15.6 rebounds per game.
