An incredible momentum swing just took place in Death Valley. One moment, LSU thought they took the lead against Clemson due to a touchdown throw by Garrett Nussmeier. The next, Damian Ramos misses a field goal attempt left, keeping the game tied in the third quarter.

Ramos might have an injury to deal with moving forward as well. He limped off the field after pushing the field goal. From the moment the ball left Ramos’ foot, you could tell there was something wrong. A grimace immediately came from the player too.

Not having a kicker available would bring a lot of interesting decisions for head coach Brian Kelly. Especially if LSU winds up in a lengthy fourth down inside field goal range. Aeron Burrell was listed as the team’s backup but he does not have a attempt on the resume quite yet.

Ramos was incredibly reliable for LSU during his third season with the program. Every kicker strives to be perfect on extra points, with Ramos hitting all 77. An 80% clip on field goals is pretty good too, making 12 of 15.

In a game this tight, a made kick might wind up being the difference. LSU just saw as such, missing an opportunity to take a late lead. Everyone in Baton Rouge will be hoping nothing is seriously too long and if needed, Ramos will be able to get back into the game.

Video board catches on fire in early stages of Clemson-LSU

Memorial Stadium is on fire for Saturday night’s game between Clemson and LSU — literally. Shortly after the game got started, the video board had smoke emerging from the top. Not usually what you find during a football game.

For now, the game is still on-going. No delay appears to be required as players are still out there on the field. Hopefully a good sign the situation is under control and nobody is in any kind of danger.

A video was captured and posted on social media. There are some flashing lights in the background, potentially being fire trucks. You can check out the full video from X user darealmattjones here.

To this point, the fire has not been mentioned on the ABC/ESPN broadcast quite yet. As you can tell from the video, a good chunk of fans are sitting right under the scoreboard. It’s at full capacity too, having a large portion of people in standing room only.
