From Baton Rouge to Omaha, the LSU national championship party has surpassed the 24-hour mark. It’s the second title in as many years for the Tigers under head coach Jay Johnson. Another special team was put together by Johnson, adding to the already rich history of the program.

Celebration for LSU has now left the Central Time Zone and gone to the Big Apple. Yes, New York City, as the Empire State Building will spend Monday night lit up purple and gold. A nod to what LSU just accomplished at the College World Series, a nice gesture from one of the country’s more recognizable landmarks.

“Shining in purple and gold tonight in celebration of the @LSUbaseball‘s College World Series Championship,” the Empire State Building’s X account said.

As if the last few days were not enough, another fun outing for LSU fans who are based in New York City. Everyone else has the ability to watch via NYC Live Cam, provided with a link in the tweet.

The actual team itself has touched back down in Baton Rouge. Festivities will continue in a big way, you have to imagine. If there is one program in college baseball that knows how to party, it’s LSU — just ask Rocco’s.

More on LSU national championship, run at College World Series

LSU was perfect at the College World Series, leaving Omaha with five wins and no losses. The Tigers never found themselves in the loser’s bracket, taking down UCLA and Arkansas twice en route to the CWS championship series. Coastal Carolina was the opponent there, where only two games were required.

Only one team was able to beat LSU throughout the NCAA Tournament. Arkansas-Little Rock was able to force a Baton Rouge Regional Game 7, providing a little scare. But the Super Regional awaited them on the other side, as did West Virginia. But the Mountaineers had no success at Alex Box Stadium, getting swept.

“I’m so proud of how this team went about their business,” Johnson said. “Because again, these guys are really smart. They know the pro prospects that some of these guys are. I think I might have even called Kendall [Rogers] and he rated us 3 in the preseason, or 4, I’m like, ‘Are you sure? That seems pretty high.’ Just because you didn’t know because it was so many new pieces. But they performed like national champions every single day of this.”
