4-star 2023 cornerback Christian Gray offered by LSU

St. Louis (Mo.) De Smet cornerback Christian Gray has been offered by LSU, he announced Tuesday afternoon on Twitter.
Gray is the No. 181 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 24 cornerback and the No. 4 prospect in Missouri.
“THIS IS A TRUE BLESSING, THANK YOU GOD,” Gray wrote. “Blessed to receive an offer from Louisiana State University. Keeping God First.”
The Tigers are the 16th school to offer the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Gray. Notre Dame, USC, LSU and Ohio State are the schools Gray is mainly considering right now, he told On3’s Joseph Hastings. Clemson, which landed five-star St. Louis cornerback Toriano Pride in the 2022 cycle, is also looking to make in-roads but has yet to offer.

Gray is fresh off of a visit to USC this past weekend and is expected to visit Notre Dame later this month for the program’s junior day. Beyond their recent communication and offer, LSU has another connection with Gray: defensive assistant Robert Steeples. One of the latest additions to Brian Kelly’s staff, Steeples was previously the head coach at De Smet before taking a job with the Minnesota Vikings last fall.
Steeples’ connections have already paid off for the Tigers, who landed Missouri transfer defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo, another former De Smet player.
