Grand Canyon 1B Zach Yorke commits to LSU out of NCAA transfer portal

Grand Canyon first baseman Zach Yorke has committed to LSU via the NCAA Transfer Portal. He announced the move on X/Twitter (@zach_yorke) Tuesday afternoon.

The Campbell, CA, native started all 48 games for Grand Canyon this season. He hit for a .339 average with 10 doubles, 13 home runs, 46 RBI, a .632 SLG and a .447 OBP.

Yorke was a staple of the Grand Canyon program over the past three seasons, starting in 162 of his 164 games played. He boasts a career .328 average with 32 doubles, 32 home runs, 157 RBI, a .546 SLG% and a .434 OBP%.

He finished his career with the program’s eight most home runs (32), 10th most RBI (157), sixth most drawn walks (122) and eighth most hits (199). He’ll now head to the SEC for his final season of collegiate baseball.

Yorke will now be headed to an LSU program that won its second National Championship in three years. The Tigers compiled a 53-15 record and downed Coastal Carolina in two games to win the 2025 Men’s College World Series.
