LSU women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey has become known for her fashion sense, and that was the case Sunday against Florida. The Tigers coach wore a bold fit, with a purple sweatshirt that displayed a basketball and net.

Mulkey has been known to wear eye-popping outfits, and she’s earned the right to show off her personal style. She had notched 742 wins in her career as she continues to climb the list of winnginest coaches in women’s hoops history.

Mulkey has been the head coach at LSU since the 2021-22 season and has led the Tigers to a 19-0 start to the year. That continued Saturday as LSU would go on to an 80-63 win against the Gators to improve to 20-0.

In her time as the Tigers head woman, she had led the team to a 111-14 overall record. That includes a national championship in 2023 and LSU has also reached the NCAA Tournament each year under her direction.

Prior to that, Mulkey also led Baylor to three national championships and four Final Four appearances in 21 seasons as coach from 2000-21. She returned to her home state in the 2021-22 season, as she is a native of Tickfaw, Louisiana.

Despite having an undeafted record, LSU ranks just No. 5 in the women’s basketball AP Poll desppite three teams in front of it having lost. The Tigers have a massive test awaiting them next week, as they will face No. 2 South Carolina at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Kim Mulkey’s emotional comments on New Orleans attack

Less than two days after the terrorist attack on New Orleans on New Years Day at 3:15 a.m., Kim Mulkey’s LSU basketball team took the floor and beat Arkansas 98-64. Still, the Tigers’ head coach could hardly take her mind off of the tragedy that struck her home state.

Arkansas had a moment of silence before the game to honor the victims of the attack. After the game, Mulkey was asked about her thoughts on what took place.

“A lot of people’s children and families — I can not even imagine how they feel,” Mulkey said. ” I went back to my state of Louisiana to be a positive and you just wish you could do something. It was very classy of Arkansas to do that with kids from our area. I can’t quit thinking about it, to be honest. It’s so close to home it smacks you right in the face. You get emotional because I just can not imagine those families right now and what they are having to deal with. All you can do is pray that somehow someway they can deal with it and continue on with their lives.”
