Kade Anderson just pitched the game of his life from Omaha. Thousands of LSU fans were there to support the left-handers, guiding the Tigers to a Game 1 win of the College World Series championship series. But two people most likely meant the most to Anderson, his parents.

Both Mom and Dad were in attendance to watch his complete game shutout. Afterward, a video was captured of Anderson meeting up with his parents and embracing them. An emotional moment for everyone involved to complete a great day at Charles Schwab Field.

Jack DeLongchamps of D1 Baseball was the one to capture the video. You can check out the full sequence from Anderson and his parents here.

This was actually the second complete game shutout Anderson hurled during the 2025 season. Back on April 3 against Oklahoma, Anderson gave up just five hits, and the Sooners did not cross the plate. While L. Dale Mitchell Park is one of the SEC’s top venues, it does not quite compare to the atmosphere in Omaha.

“I put my team in a situation to win,” Anderson said postgame with ESPN’s Kris Budden. “A lot of credit to my defense because I didn’t have that many strikeouts. A lot of credit to them and it goes back to trust.”

This was not a situation where he cruised to the victory either. Anderson was truly needed for all nine innings as LSU only won 1-0. Had the program’s ace not been out there dealing, the result might have gone in the complete opposite direction.

And now, the next time he is on the mound, a different jersey is likely being worn. Anderson is leaving LSU in favor of the 2025 MLB Draft, where he has a chance to be the No. 1 overall pick. You have to imagine the Washington Nationals were watching this game quite closely.

If that was goodbye for Anderson, one heck of a way to go out. Having your parents there is about as good as it gets, too.

However, his teammates still have a little more work to do. Game 2 of the College World Series championship series will take place on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT, and if needed, Game 3 will be played on Monday night. LSU won a national championship just two seasons ago but are now desperately attempting to add to the trophy cabinet.
