LSU wins third consecutive game via walk-off with Taylor Pleasants home run

LSU women’s softball won their third consecutive game on Thursday night, after Taylor Pleasants blasted her third career walk-off home run against Boise State. She smacked a deep shot over the center field wall to lift the Tigers to a 3-2 victory in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Pitcher Sydney Berzon improved to 4-0 on Thursday night after she threw a complete game with 13 strikeouts (career-high).
The last time the Tigers had a walk-off home run in extra innings came on Feb. 26, 2022. That was when Shelbi Sunseri blasted a solo shot for a 3-2 win in 10 innings at Tiger Park against Drake.
LSU will finish their series with Boise State on Friday. That one is set to start at 4:00 PM CST.
With the win, the LSU softball team moved to 9-0 on the year. They’re currently ranked No. 6/7 in the nation, but they’ve recently defeated two Top 25 opponents Northwestern (No. 22) and Oklahoma State (No. 6).
Last year for the Tigers, Pleasants earned third team All-SEC honors after she batted .346 with a .562 slugging percentage. She finished the 2023 season with 56 hits, 11 doubles, and eight home runs, to go along with 53 RBIs (team-high). Pleasants has been one of the best power hitters in school history and she entered the 2024 campaign as No. 5 all-time in career home runs (37).
