Whit Weeks injury update: Frank Wilson shares status of LSU defender, others vs. Oklahoma

LSU has had an injury report that at times has been as lengthy as it has been notable considering who all has been on it for the Tigers. That continued this week, with Frank Wilson having to provide updates on several players going into the final week of this season.
Wilson just went down the list as far as injury designations for LSU going into this week during his press conference on Monday going into Saturday’s game at Oklahoma. Among those was LB Whit Weeks, who finally returned to the field, from a foot injury that had sidelined him for over a month, in a limited fashion this past weekend against Western Kentucky, and who is now hoping to play more against OU.
“Whit came out of the game feeling good. We want to limit his opportunities so that he could be at his best in this game,” said Weeks. “I’m hopeful that he’ll be able to play his best, from a health standpoint, in this upcoming game.
A few other notable ones were RB Caden Durham, their leading rusher who suffered a neck injury this past weekend, and WR Aaron Anderson, their third-leading receiver who again did not play last weekend. Both will be monitored over this week in hopes of each playing in Norman, says Wilson.
“Caden Durham was more of a neck than concussion protocol. It was a five-technique that looped inside and kind of jammed him, short-necked him, if you will. So, I think he’ll be – he’s hopeful on this Monday. I think he’ll be ready to go,” said Wilson. “Probably won’t do anything with him Tuesday, may even put a red shirt on him on Wednesday – just so, you know, those nerves, those muscles in your neck can be very difficult to overcome. But, I think he’ll be ready to go.”
“Aaron Anderson, who’s gotten good treatment. He’ll be hopeful as well,” Wilson said. “We’ll see how this week goes with Aaron Anderson.”
Then, among the others listed were OL Tyree Adams, who has been out for over a month after an ankle surgery, Mansoor Delane, who did not play last weekend, OL Braelin Moore, who has continued to deal with an ankle issue as well as a foot injury now, and then OT Ory Williams, who also left with an ankle injury on Saturday. As of today, each of them had varying degrees in their statuses, with the three offensive linemen each sounding pretty doubtful for the regular season finale.

“Tyree Adams is progressing. Have a chance, although probably a slim chance, to be ready for this game,” said Wilson. “More likely for the bowl game. But he’s on pace to have a chance to play in this game.”
“Mansoor Delane was good this morning, was good on yesterday’s treatment,” Wilson said. “So, we’re hopeful that he’ll be able to play, in full capacity, this game.”
“Braelin Moore is doubtful. Ory Williams, at this point, is doubtful,” added Wilson.
Again, the injury reports have often been lengthy ones for LSU. That said, though, most of these names for the Tigers sound like they could have a chance to play this weekend against the Sooners, at least as of this morning according to Wilson.
“The long shots are Ory and Braelin Moore, than next is probably Tyree,” said Wilson. “I think, I feel good about the others thus far, at this point in the week.”
