LSU LB Whit Weeks is expected to miss this week’s game against Texas A&M, On3’s Pete Nakos reported. The hope is for a return for the Alabama game after the bye.

Weeks is dealing with a bone bruise in his ankle and missed last week’s game against Vanderbilt as a result of the injury. On3 insiders Pete Nakos, Brett McMurphy and Chris Low reported Weeks was trending toward missing his second consecutive game with the ailment.

Weeks plays a crucial role on the LSU defense. Through six games, he has 29 total tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack. Last year, he had a career year with 125 total tackles, 10.0 TFL and 3.5 sacks, along with his first career interception. Weeks also led the SEC with 61 solo stops in 2024.

On3 previously reported Weeks was unlikely to play. LSU coach Brian Kelly said the team would know more later this week about his status for a crucial game against Texas A&M on Saturday.

“Whit is still non-weightbearing,” Kelly said on this week’s SEC coaches teleconference. “He’s in the boot, and we’ll keep the boot on him for another couple of days before we know what he can do. He’s been doing some additional treatments, and he’s feeling better, but we won’t know on him until later in the week.”

Weeks was listed as doubtful on Thursday’s SEC availability report, and Friday’s report is set to come down at 8:10 p.m. ET. He’s one of a handful of injuries for LSU, which is especially shorthanded on the offensive line.

Left tackle Tyree Adams underwent tightrope ankle surgery this week, Kelly said Thursday on his radio show. On3 previously reported he would miss this week’s game against Texas A&M, and Kelly set the timeline for his return at four to five weeks.

“He had a tightrope surgery, which is the surgery that they do for high ankle sprains,” Kelly said. “He had that surgery on Tuesday. That generally takes four to five weeks to come back. So maybe we’ll have him by the end of the year, maybe not.”

Adams has become a key piece of the LSU offensive line after appearing in eight games last year, including two starts. He has been tasked with protecting Garrett Nussmeier’s blind side, and Kelly confirmed Carius Curne would start in Adams’ place.
